I thank you all for your concerns, but he had two nieces . No one knows if they are alive, he didn’t talk about them.
He passed away in his sleep after suffering a stroke.
He was also recovering from a fall which he had broken a bone in his neck.
He was just like a father to me, he will be missed.
Thanks to all

Or tombstoneexpress
I just learned that old fluff has passed away back in March on the 14th , four days before my birthday. Donald Shumar was a great friend to me, he will be missed !
Rest In Peace
Old Fuff was definitely one of those rare people who probably forgot more about guns that many of us will ever possess. His knowledge was unsurpassed and he had a very easy going way of conveying this to his fellow members here on THR.
Like those who have gone before, Old Fuff will be greatly missed. Rest in peace good sir.
Sorry to hear that. He was always a gentleman and a great source of information. They don’t make em like him anymore. My condolences to his family. He will be missed but his advice and wisdom will always be remembered on this forum.
Loved his posts on the revolver thread. Great style, amazing knowledge. Loved how he would refer to himself in the third person.
Old Fuff, rcmodel (lost a ways back) from the reloading forum - folks like those and others are part of what makes THR the best firearms forum on the intertubes.
He impressed me much the way RC Model did. Always pleasant and a wealth of good information. I hope he is now enjoying morning coffee with RC. I wish him calm winds and following seas.
