Painting Foregrip on Mossberg Maverick

I have a Mossberg Maverick..came with desert brown stock and grip..Changed the grip to a black, full length pistol grip but the foregrip remains brown..Don't really want to do the effort or $ to swap..possible to paint this thing black? If yes, paint rec?
 
If the fore end is plastic.......... I've heard of people using Rit fabric dye to color light plastic stocks black.
 
I would say try something like Krylon Fusion spray paint. Used something like this on plastic house shutters and it went on nice and evenly with no spray nozzle problems. Turned out great and has held up really well. They even have a matte finish camoflage series.
 
Brownells Aluma Hyde II works well, but you have to follow the instructions to the letter. Takes about a week to fully cure. Tough stuff when its dry, and looks good too.
 
Are you just going to mask off the rest of the gun? Assuming you're not going to take it off to paint...not sure what the results would be, but anytime I need a durable finish on something and black is normal, Ive had good luck with spray-on bed liner from a parts store.

Do you have a desert brown stock and foregrip?


Somewhere around here... I saved the same black foregrip linked in post 7.

That's correct, I have the brown stock(replaced with ATI black pistol stock)..and looking at videos, looks pretty easy to swap.not keen on spending another $50+ on this tho...want to swap? My brown for your black?
 
Quite possibly Yes.

My 88 is the basic 6 shot security model. I bought 21"? barrel with chokes.

It came all black with the corn cobb style forend stock linked in post 7.

I found the support arm reach to be too far for comfort for my shorter arms so I switched to a different style with a longer "rat tail' (I guess is the term) that allows my support hand to not be as stretched out reaching forward. It's only 1- 2 inches closer but it made a big difference for me.

Do you have a pic of your forend stock so I can see the style...preferably with the action open?

I'll look for my forend this week. I think I know where is it.

I'm not a shotgun guy but I've been trying to expand my horizons. I also cut down my stock thinking that was the problem. I wsh I realized it was my support hand reach was the biggest problem. I may cut too much off the stock but the limbsaver hwlps make up the difference.
