Hi all. While drooling over a 444 Marlin BFR earlier i had a thought. What would be an interesting, different cartridge you would like to see in a BFR? Even if it was just a one off job.
For me it would be a 5 or possibly 6 shot 375 Win.

Since there is an ejector rod on the BFR a rimless bottleneck cartridge should pop out as easily as a rimmed case does... but I just don’t think the .35 Remington has enough shoulder to keep it in place or I’d say that caliber would be cool.

Stay safe.

Lengthen the chambers of the existing .357 Magnum BFR .135" to accept the .360 Dan Wesson and use a 10" 1:14 twist barrel. The .360 DW can be loaded to duplicate the ultra-pressure .353 Casull without fear of the ammo winding up in the wrong gun.
For the long-cylinder revolver, how about the .357 Herrett?

I think one in .223/5.56 would make for a pleasant shooing, and extremely accurate BFR. Ammo is also cheap enough to make it affordable to shoot it often and a lot.

A BFR in 357 Herrett would be a sweet handgun for hogs. Would also be a fun silhouette gun with the longer barrel.
