Now I do like Smith & Wesson, but I got tired of waiting for mine and changed my order for the BFR and it came in after 1 week of changing my order. I shot it today. I put 50 rounds of 440 gr. Cast Performance through it. What a blast. Now the BFR does not have a muzzle break or compensator. I found it does have a good recoil but not to where I would even consider selling it due to recoil. But do look at the BFR what a great gun. The BFR frame has been proven for several years in the 444 Marlin, 45-70 and the new 450. The top strap on the BFR is a lot more beefed up then the S&W. The single action does not make a difference because most people will be shooting the Smith's in single action mode.

Standing Wolf, I would never consider a double tap. :) Unless you were going to shoot at a Plane. LOL :) I did shoot it one handed. There were some local cops there and a couple of them shot my 500 but one guy said no way. So I told him if he shot it, I would shoot it one handed. Well, I shot it one handed. Not bad. :)

Preacherman, I paid $899.00 for the BFR, I was quoted $839.00 for the Smith.

Externally, it's identical in appearance to the 45/70 BFR. Long cylinder and all.

I saw one with a ten inch barrel yesterday. BFR is appropriate description. $950. $34 for 12 round box of Cor-Bon. Whats next, a 20 mm derringer.
