Ok fellas

Would you use a 350 legend in an ar 15 for home defense?

I am looking at some 20 round mags and that’s a good size chunk of lead even the 145 grain fmj load it’s under $10 bucks a box that’s cheap for rifle ammo

Would I ? No, and especially not with FMJ ammo. I'd be worried about over penetration and how many walls that FMJ will go through before stopping. Unless you are in the middle of nowhere you'd have a good chance of putting one through the neighbors wall.

I personally don’t see a driver to select a 350 for the purpose of HD, but I can appreciate it is advantageous over many cartridges commonly used for home defense. For most Americans, I could easily be convinced the .350L is a better option than 5.56/223.

I am in the very rural part of america nearest neighbor is a 1/4 mile away your talking about a cartridge they say not to use past 200 yards I’m not saying I would use fmj I am saying it’s a cheap practice load

Is it my first choice no do I think it’s better than 5.56 yes

Ive got mine available to me as an option for HD. Its.loaded with 147xtps at 2350. Far beyond what the bullets are designed for, but from what ive shot with them they should be effective.

I have to agree with Jeff:

My choice is a .45 ACP with all things considered. Now if your house has a 1 mile radius around it to the nearest neighbor they maybe I would consider a rifle cartridge but I have maybe 50 feet. On the bright side my neighbors garages are adjacent to my property lines. Everyone is different as to which round is suitable for home defense. I figure decide on the round and then worry about the gun.
