Here is my question do you think a 124 grain XTP would hold up to rifle velocities out of my 18 inch .350 Legend?

I think a 20 round mag of those would be just the ticket for HD!

Not sure probably a question for Hornady. What velocities is one expecting out of 124gr 350 Legend?

It seems to me I would at the very least jump up to 147gr XTP to lessen the velocities you would see. Although I’m sure Hornady gave the 147 XTP’s a lessor expansion threshold due to expected lower velocities as compared to 124’s so what I just said could be a moot point.

I would think that with the 350 Legend coming out one could expect an “XTP Mag” line of .355 bullets like they’ve done for the .45 cal bullets for higher velocity usage.

Hornady says that the 124 XTP is designed for 850-1375 fps. The 147 is designed around 750-1200. I don't know if you can even find starting loads that slow.

Might be better off with a heavier JSP if you're looking to run at rifle velocities. Or maybe sizing a heavier 38 caliber XTP and running it at starting load.
