So lately I've been shooting alot of rimfire, and I got the itch to build a rifle so I went with a rem 783 tactical with 16.5" barrel, ordered a pillar bedded Boyd's at one stock pt&g bottom metal is currently on order and I had a 26" .90 barrel made from a stainless green mountain blank finished by bison gun works which I've heard lots of good things about. I am currently waiting on headspace gauges from reamer rentals and then I hope to start reloading my own ammo

6.5 creedmoor troy, I figure the actions aren't bad the barrel is low batch and so I should have as good of accuracy as an ruger precision realistically so far I've just shot Winchester and s&b just for brass in the 16" form and with the s&b itd shoot under 1"

I have the same stock in walnut in my long range ruger 10/22, your gonna like it . Great rifle, congratulations. Don't forget the range report with pictures.

I know you said the stock was bedded....but be careful of the barrel channel- I got a laminate from them that would shoot great until the barrel warmed up....then it would put pressure at about 4 o'clock......and groups would open up....had to take a bit of wood out to fix the issue.....

....nice looking rifle by the way....

That's looking good steeldrifter.

I really like the 783. One of the better choices in the sea of low cost rifles.

I haven’t really warmed up to the idea of the At-One so far, but you piqued my interest with the thought of a Walnut offering. Much more sleek and chic than the laminate version, that’s a pretty damned slick stick @ms6852 !

Does the 783 tac still come with the stupid flat bolt handle?
I'm digging your rifle, and if that doesn't have a flat handle I might need to try one for a build.

My rifle I have around 1100 into it with everything including the cabelas covanent ffp. Scope sure it's not great but it will do until I catch up from covid poop. Rifle was 400 pillar bedded at one 285( I wanted adjustability and dont like chassis) green mountain pre fit was 270 shipped and a pt&g aics bottom metal will it shoot as good as an rpr or a stealth? I think so is it cooler because I built it? Definitely I think a 1:8 twist with some 140 grain hand loads will shoot amazing out of it their blanks are airgauged .002 or something and many people say besides hand lapping there's no difference between them or a shillen

I have a couple of the Covenant scopes, one of them I have had for 3 years. They are on lighter recoiling rifles-223 and 6mm, and have held up fine. The 6-24 FFP takes a couple shots to settle in after dialing but this doesn't bother me because I use the reticle to hold most of the time. They are no Nightforce but can get me out to 600 and beyond.

Good value for the money.
