New to 10mm, go to powder?

Do you have any of the powders the books offer loads for in your stock? If not it may be a matter of picking what you can lay hands on right now that has loads listed for what you want.

All that were mentioned work well for 10mm as does VVN-340. Seems that BlueDot and 800X give highest velocities. I have gotten best accuracy with AA#9 and Longshot. The recoil impulse with Longshot is most comfortable for me. BE86 works well for mid range velocities. Keep working at it until you find your comfort zone with 10mm. I really like 10mm. To each his own. Best wishes

I have tried blue dot, Longshot, and BE-86. In order, I prefer BE-86, Longshot, and then Bluedot.

I’ve tried several (800X, BE-86, Blue Dot, AA9, Unique and Powerpistol) in my G20 with a KKM barrel and 180 grain bullets and can’t seem to beat 800X in performance. As much as I’d like to get a good load that would meter well from my auto disc, I just can’t get past how great 800X works for me. Looks like I’ll be hand measuring my 10MM loads.

I didn’t load for 10mm for long, but I stumbled across a really nice load quickly. AA7 shot well with all loads I tried and all but the lightest load cycled the slide reliably on the Delta Elite I had. I don’t recall what the load was though since that was about 5 years ago and I had the gun for less than 6 months.

Power Pistol works for me. I haven't tried all that many powders, to be fair.

I've been using Herco. Why? I had some and wasn't using it for anything else.

It doesn't meter the best, but it makes nice patterns. So it's working out fine for me.

A friend of mine uses 800X and likes it, he got a electronic powder measure dispenser and is now a happy camper.
