Embarking into new territory and looking for knowledge. Looking for powders to use in loading for suppressed 9mm and in .300 Blackout. So far only two powders I've come up with CFE Pistol and CFE BLK. What is anybody else using for suppressed loads. Side note I've been away from reloading for almost 15 yrs..All I used to use were Unique for pistol and 4895 for rifle ( sometimes Unique for reduced cast loads) Anyway any advise is greatly appreciated.

Bullseye for 9mm 147gr cast, 4227 for 300blk 225gr cast. Been dabbling with CFE 300blk. Doesn't seem as accurate as 4227 so far. We will see.

50 years reloading experience but No experience with silencers ...
It may still be illegal in Louisiana ... I've never seen anyone with a silencer on a pistol, rifle or shotgun .

SBR Socom for 300 BLK. I won't ever go back. 10 grains under a 220 Berry's plated runs about 950 fps in a 10.5 inch barrel and is stupid quiet with a Hybrid 46 or Osprey 9. It's also pretty amazing without the can....unlike other BLK powders that result in huge muzzle flash and sound like a 44 mag when you shoot them unsuppressed......it's actually pretty reasonable, and more like shooting a rifle than a SBR. For 9mm, since I'm now all about the Shooter's World/Lovex powders, Clean Shot is what you're looking for.

Stayball 6.5 - wonder if it’s good stuffz They had it at my local shop

If you’re buying powders it’s pretty much dictated by what’s available.

is the 300 BLK also going to be suppressed? What type of gun are you using for the 300 BLK? Really short barrels are going to be more picky than rifle length barrels. Unique works great if you’re using a bolt action for the blackout and would also be fine or 9mm.

I use VV N330 or N340 for suppressed 9mm loads and H110/W296 for subsonic blackout loads. I’m not sure if it’s possible to find those powders today.

9mm- CFE Pistol is a good one. I also like WIN-231 (9mm 115gr and 124 subsonic)
Higher energy powders like Power Pistol or BE-86 will also be good for suppressed loads and 147 grain bullets.

300 BLK I do not load for, but a few friends do.
WW296, H-110 or Alliant Power Pro 300 MP are good.
I bought a pound of 300 MP the other day, it's not as well known to your "average guys" yet, thus more likely to be in stock.
Best of luck.

I was looking at the 147 gr truncated cone (RBR) for the 9mm although i do have a variety of 124 gr on hand that i could use now that its been mentioned I was trying to stay with heavier bullets due to power levels and staying subsonic. Haven't decided on the .300 BLK weight yet but probably 180-220 grns its in a AR pistol with a 10" barrel. I have Unique on hand and WC-746(?) (BL-C2 Data) on hand for rifles. Only reason I mentioned the CFE powders is they are supposed to have a flash suppressant in them.

I’ve seen that powder available online quite a bit lately.

Mind sharing WIN-231 loads?
I've got a can in jail right now and I have several lbs. of this powder.

I've found just about every load in a manual for WW231 in 9mm to work extremely well. Speed of sound is for the most part around 1,100fps. All of my 124gr bullets are slower than that in the lower ranges of WW231. I do like to work them down to levels where they just cycle the action and the brass doesn't go far.....

.....OK fine, here it is:
FC indoor range brass wet tumbled better than new
CCI SPP
WIN 231 @ 4.0gr
124gr. Xtreme Plated HP
Seated to 1.130"

Light taper crimp so they plunk in my Glock 34 barrel and absolutely no more.
Then load, and fire.
These chrono about 950fps if i can recall. Depending on your specific gun you may need to work up to get to reliably cycle, or work the load down into the upper 3s grain range if cycling is reliable, and you can still hit what you want to hit.

Just MHO but I love CFE BLK subsonic 300 BLK loads.

9mm, 147 grain subsonic ... you can't beat N330 imho, unless it's with N340 or N350.

I'm a big fan of everything VV but I may have to try some of the SW Lovex stuff ... been seeing it available lately and the price is right.

VV powders are hard to beat. I just don't see how N330 can be beaten under 147 grain 9mm projectiles. It's all I use for my V Crowns suppressed and accuracy is dead nuts perfect with single digit deviations at 1000 fps with little to no muzzle flash or recoil. It's actually better than SIG factory loads imho.

I get identical results out of my P226s and my P320s/M17s.

I walked away from a pound of H110 today. Yep! too expensive $38.99 + $4 tax = Way too Much
