I am a French citizen and bullseye shooter. I have been working and shooting in the US for several years and it will soon be time for me to go back home.
I would like to ship a couple handguns. I have all the legal authorizations required on the French side.

My guns have to be shipped to a specific guns dealer, while I stay here in the US for some more time.

I am in contact with several US firearms exporters. They all explain that they cannot ship further than a French freight airport, and that I need to find a transporter to get my guns from the airport to the dealer.
I contacted several operators, major or not, and none of them will handle firearms.

If you have any experience in this kind of operation, please PM me. Thanks.

That's rather a conundrum.

You have tried transport companies, but what about French firearms importers? Have you contacted the consulate in DC to check whether they have a list of those who can and will?

I take it you have looked up bonded transport firms in France? What about the dealer to which the guns are being sent? He must have some experience of the matter.

Here's a list of freight forwarders at CdG, but you may have already been in contact with these folks?

Bonne chance!

Thanks Doc,
My dealer does not import guns, but I will contact French firearms importers, that is a great idea I hadn't thought about.
I doubt the embassy would be of any help on this matter, but I appreciate the link to the freight forwarders. I have a couple phone calls to make.
Thanks again.

I'm helping a friend (French/US dual citizen) with this. . . by storing his firearm for him for the years he's in France. He concluded it was impossible to bring it there.

I have shipped a pistol to France some years ago. It went first to an exporting dealer in Florida where it languished until he had enough items to make a shipment. I'm not sure about the details on the French end, It went to Maureo (??) who can be found on the Luger forum. You might ask him.

It may be possible, but I have no idea what is the daily rate and how long they allow packages to be stored in their facilities.
I am still working on it (again, many thanks @unspellable).
