Do SS pins damage brass?

Look at these cases that was posted a while ago and how accurate they were.
After seeing these dented up cases is ss pin damage if any is very minor and nothing to worry about.

I get a lot of range brass from a gravel pit we go to and have been setying cases like these aside to reload and keep reloading to see how many times they can be reloaded until they fail.

Welcome to thr!
As everyone else has said, "No, tumbling with SS pins & a wet solution does no damage".

If you're trying to tumble dry with SS pins, ah - that's probably not a good solution. :what:

If you have a cleanly trimmed and chamfered case where the cuts are perfect and shiny under a magnifying glass and you chunk them in a tumbler with stainless or even corncob media, afterwards you can see where things were crashing into that area and it’s not as perfect. This is why I just brush and wipe off my benchrest cases by hand. Might not make a big difference but we are also talking about tiny group sizes.

Using stainless, I generally tumble them for an hour or less but one time forgot about a batch for 24 hours. They were permanently a flat green color for the rest of their lives everywhere the pins could contact, only the depths of the headstamps remained shiny.

They did reload and shoot fine though.
That looks like a happy accident.
