Just looking for some comparisons to my load.

Chrony set at 15 feet
Traditions St.Louis Hawken, 28" barrel, .54cal.
.530" round ball
2fg Gearhart - Owen Black Powder.

No swabbing was done and I did 3 shots each.

80gr - 1,474 FPS
90gr - 1,580
100gr - 1,663

Next time, I plan on swabbing between shots, but the largest spread was with 100gr 2f at 24FPS SD. Not not IMO.

I dont have a chrono...but do you think old Eynseford 3f would have higher numbers as its a "hotter" powder? Also what is your take on the .54 cal round ball for black bear...what about a 300 or 380 REAL bullet? Thanks!

This thread on ALR has a mother load of .54 PRB chrony results from Herb and others.--->>> https://americanlongrifles.org/forum/index.php?topic=55656.0#:~:text=54 is finely accurate with, load on deer any day.
Herb's photos can be enlarged and magnified by clicking on each twice.
Some of these guys may be shooting rifles with long barrels.
