The news was released today. I don't know much yet but it looks a lot like a rehashed Remington 700. It appears to be focused on the tactical customer niche.

Hot dang! We needed another tack ti kool rifle. Probably well engineered, thought out and will sell a bunch.

I have a love/hate with SA like everyone else.

But dang, they do release products that I really like.

I had sticker shock at first, but a carbon fiber stock and a carbon fiber shrouded barrel are cool features at their price range

Especially considering that's MSRP and Street price will be notably lower (eventually)

Caliber selection is kind of weak, if intended for hunting 308 ain't a bad choice but a lot of guys want magnums, and 7mm options in a sniper type rig like that....is my thought.

Actually that is what the ideal 21 Century hunting rifles look like ! Unless it is a niche hunting rifle with alternative actions (pump, lever, single shot semi) or an ultra light or small or BIG bore or carbine ect. That rifle can do it all for hunting of any creature and I like the picture of it in a rifle carrying back pack like my Eberlestock :)

The one I chose :
MODEL 2020 WAYPOINT RIFLE
6.5 PRC|RIDGELINE CAMO (BAW92465PRCD)

The 6.5 PRC would be my choice as well. There's a Savage model that's pretty similar. It's priced a little lower and has a little more selection of cartridges as well.

Looks good on paper and for the features the price is reasonable. Remember this is MSRP, street prices are almost always 10-20% less. I wonder who is actually making them.

The action looks interesting but bolt action "tactical" rifles just don't tickle my fancy. If I want tactical I look at semi-autos. If I'm buying a bolt action (or lever for that matter) I like more classically styled hunting rifles. The two worlds don't mix for me.

I'm kind of excited about this one. Being a long time fan of the .264 Winchester, I would probably lean toward the 6.5PRC and might even go so far as to call it the .264 PRC so I don't feel too high tech. My long-time hunting rifle is a Winchester Model 70 in 30-06. I love this rifle, but it would be fun to have another hunting rifle for medium game. I have multiples of other types of guns, but my hunting rifles tend to be fewer and more personal. I guess I will have to keep an eye on this one and see if it pans out.

Looks interesting and thanks for the link, kwg020, I like that style of web site. Wound up selecting a 2020 Waypoint in .308, steel barrel, in a carbon fiber M-Lok stock in Evergreen Camo. Not currently in the market for something like that but I can dream, can't I ?
