How many parts are interchangeable between the 17 and 22 slides?
I know the slides themselves are different dimensions, and of course the barrels and recoil springs and the extractor are the parts I know for sure are different. But what about the rest?

On the gen 3’s and older, the recoil springs are the same. Don’t know about the newer models.

Slide, barrel, ejector, extractor are different. Other than magazines the rest of the gun is the same.

So I guessed it completely right?

Eleven parts (or twelve w/RSA).
-front sight
-front sight screw
-rear sight
-cover plate
-extractor depressor plunger (EDP)
-EDP spring
-firing pin channel liner
-firing pin spring cups
-firing pin spring
-firing pin safety w/spring
-firing pin spacer sleeve

The RSA being the same in Gen2/3 G22 models was already addressed; different RSA in Gen4. Perhaps there's something else I've forgotten.

Reference the Glock parts list for info: https://us.glock.com/-/media/Global...certified-armorer-parts-order-form-11520.ashx

All the parts will interchange in the sense that they will fit and work reasonably well. The only exception is that the 22 bbl won't fit in the 17.

I haven't checked the firing pins, so there may be a fit issue there, but I'm guessing they will interchange too.

That doesn't mean they are all the same or that they will be as reliable in the wrong gun.

Slide, barrel, ejector, extractor, spring-loaded bearing, firing pin assembly, RSAs and magazines are all different in the 22 vs the 17.

In the pre-gen 4 guns, the 17 RSA was 5579, 5593 for the 22. In the Gen4 guns, the RSA for the 17 was 024, 033 for the 22.
The spring-loaded bearing is white in the 22, black in the 17.

There is a difference between the 9mm and 40 S&W firing pins on Gen 3 pistols. Also different part numbers for both.

And the spring-loaded bearing (extractor plunger) are different also (as already mentioned).

While you can put a G17 barrel into a G22 slide. I would not recommend shooting it that way. The G22 barrel is 0.030" bigger in diameter. The barrel hood on the G22 barrel is also 0.035" wider than the G17.

The recoil spring assembly for the Gen 3 17 and 22 are the same part number according to the Official Parts Order Form

1533 Recoil Spring Assembly - 9mm, .40, .357, .45GAP G17,G22,G31,G37 silver springs & marked 5579-1

Glock did not start using a separate recoil spring assembly for the 9mm and 40/357 unit the Gen 4 with the dual spring setup.
