I've never fired a 10mm 1911, but I have handled a buddies Colt Delta Elite. Just holding the gun it felt different in my hand that any other 1911 I've ever handled. Is the physical outer dimensions of the frame different between the two?

Also what parts are interchangeable between the two guns? Would parts like MSH's, triggers, hammers, grips, thumb safety's, grip safety's, etc interchange between them?

1. .45 and 10mm 1911s are the same size. Maybe the grips were different than what you're accustomed to.

2. Yes.

Thanks WC145!

At some point I would like to pick up a 10mm 1911.

10mmm 1911s use the .38 super ejector, which sits closer to the center of the frame, so the slides are cut slightly different to accomodate this. Everything else interchanges.
