I haven't seen much information about the Sig 320, I handled one and it appears to be a reasonably well crafted pistol.
Anyone with a differing experience or opinion?

My only differing experience is I would have thought everybody has seen a bunch of information on the SIG P320. A trip to the magazine stand will probably have a couple of magazines on the shelf with cover stories on some version of the SIG P320.

With a quick forum search you can probably find 20 threads with the P320 in subject line.

The P320 (in M17/M18 versions) was chosen to replace the Beretta M9 for the US forces. The gun has been all over the news for the past couple of years.

Thanks for the reply..... having done a quick search here, resulting in varied results, including glock 19 and the USMC, sig365 and other anomalies not relevant to that query I decided....gee, this is a discussion forum, let's start, apparently, another one for the Sig 320. Lacking an avaliable magazine stand, I thought it practical to ask multiple persons that may have some information and would like to visit about it....being a forum and all.

No, I don't have a differing opinion. Except I upgraded my P320c slide to one machined for the Romeo1 Pro with suppressor sights. I'll never go back to iron sights.

Thanks JTQ. Haven't been in the loop for a while.
These links are especially usefull.
I like how the 320 handles quite a lot, and what I had heard off handedly that it was swappable upgradeable to various configurations and as a service pistol it required a look.

I'm thinking I'm going to pick one of these up.
Messaged Sig to determine of the one im looking at has its upgrade or if they suggest sending if back to them if it doesn't.
Any one find a major difference before/ after having the pistol upgraged?

I have a P320, ducks unlimited model. I am not a fan of plastic pistols. I like wood and blue or stainless. That being said, its everything a glock wishes it could be. Its action is smooth. The slide isn't clanky and doesn't shift the balance of the pistol, like the G17 and G20 ive owned do during firing. The one thing I cannot comment on is long term durability. I dont shoot mine much. Revolvers are my thing.

The P320 feels great in the hands, and is pretty darn accurate. Definitely a great shooter.

The major difference, outside of the increased safety factor, is that after market action parts won't work with a pistol which hasn't been upgraded.

The trigger on mine improved dramatically after the upgrade...from Barely Acceptable to at least Very Acceptable; maybe even to Not Bad

Great info 9mmepiphany. I'm pretty sure that a 320 is following me home, I should know soon regarding if the one I'm looking at has been updated, and if not, ita a quick trip to Sig for it to happen

I would certainly shoot one first and maybe compare to other 'similar' handguns, if you can. I have owned a couple of HGs that 'felt really good in the hand', only to find they weren't great to shoot(either malfunction city or just felt crappy to shoot, for ME)..and away they went quickly. Pretty easy to figure this out with only 50 rounds or so.

Certainly shoot an un-upgraded gun first and decide if any 'upgrade' is worth the time and $....to YOU..I wouldn't just send it to Sig before YOU shoot it.
In "SIG-talk", "upgrade" is code for "safety recall, because our guns can fire without the trigger being pulled."

I've had an X5 Legion for about 2 months and just bought a Full Size in .40.

There is a pretty good aftermarket for them and, since the US military adopted it, I expect that will remain good for some time. A Gray's trigger is on the agenda for the full size.

Where I'm at, its difficult to find somewhere to go to rent or borrow one, thsts one of the reasons I like to quiz folks here about their experiences or opinions.
If indeed the pistol I'm looking at requires a safety upgrade to be......safe. it may be a deal breaker
Have to wait and see.

It is new. Hope Sig can provide a S/N range that will be the ' new improved ' version. If not, theirs other handguns lurking out there

A few months back I bought a Sig 320 XCompact w/ a Romeo 1 optic and it's a great handgun. Feels good in my hand and the trigger is pretty decent. Accuracy is what you would expect from a Sig handgun. No regrets with this purchase.

I don't think that information is available. Just as most SIG models don't have "generations" with hard cut off date, I'd be very surprised if they tracked a upgrade initiation number...the intent would be that all SIG 320s would have been upgraded

I'm not sure why it would be. It's just a quick trip to the Mothership and a return to your address...I think the upgrade on mine too 10 days

Folks familiar with the P320 can tell by the lightened trigger. The sure way to tell is by removing the slide and checking for the presence of the relief cut for the disconnector

Wilson Combat (among others) has done a lot with the P320. Their grip modules are very popular and well regarded.

Got one, love it! Got the full-size RX, which is pretty neat as well.

I have nothing bad to say about the P-320. Most come with nice triggers, the X-ray SIGLITE night sights are superb, the ergonomics are great, they're accurate and reliable.

Sig cant supply any information other than what a previous poster aluded to, that of a cut by the disconector.
I'm thinking that its Merry Christmas for me.
