For better than ten years my only muzzle loading rifle has been a 50 caliber Thompson - Center Omega in stainless steel. It’s been a good gun with a fair trigger. I’ve about halfway talked myself into a new muzzle loader. The Knight Mountaineer seems to have the features I’m looking for and has good price point. I don’t know anything about the company, their quality, customer service or the general accuracy of their rifles. Any feedback anyone can give, especially on this Model, would be greatly appreciated.

I shot Knights for years as they started the modern inline muzzleloader scene. Their customer service was one great. Mr. Knight is gone, company was sold and today I'd look into some of the new higher Berger barreled CVA's, Traditions Vortex etc. for inlines. The accuracy and ease of cleaning is incredible. Trigger pulls are excellent also but lock time will be slower than the Knight bolt actions. But that Omega in an outstanding gun in it's own right and should last you forever.

Generally I've been impressed by what folks have posted about the accuracy of their Knight rifles on other forums.
I suppose watching company videos showing extreme long range accuracy from their Green Mountain barrels also persuaded me, but I had already seen similar proof about other Knight models.
But whether to buy one depends on what kind of gun appeals to you and its price range.
Even the least expensive Knight rifles are very accurate.

There appears to be a bare primer breech plug and bolt body adaptor for those who don't want to use full plastic jackets.
The adaptor is preferred by some for use with BH 209.
I believe that they are sold by Lehigh Defense through its SSK Industries subsidiary. --->>> https://www.lehighdefense.com/firearm-components
This thread has very favorable comments about the Mountaineer showing that some folks are very satisfied and wouldn't trade theirs for any other gun. --->>> https://www.modernmuzzleloader.com/threads/knight-mountaineer.37349/#post-326426

I found that thread by doing an advanced search for Mountaineer on the modernmuzzler forum.
Here's the raw search results if you want to explore them further: --->>> https://www.modernmuzzleloader.com/search/193555/?q=mountaineer&o=relevance

This thread describes some of the differences between the Knight bare primer conversion and the Lehigh conversion. --->>> https://www.modernmuzzleloader.com/threads/45-or-50-knight-ultralight.37087/#post-322757
The Lehigh conversion says that it's for the Disc Rifle, but apparently the Ultra Lite and Mountaineer bolts are similar enough that it can be used with either models.
They say that the Lehigh is easier to use and there's photos that show a close up of the Knight conversion.
This seems to be the main drawback with getting involved with the Knight.
It's whether you want to get involved with that setup and will be happy using it.

The Sportman's Warehouse sells the Knight conversion for $85. --->>> https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting...sories/knight-mountaineer-209-conv-k/p/p62025

Knight sells their conversion for $132. --->>> https://www.muzzleloaders.com/product/mountaineer-209-bare-primer-conversion-kit/
