On the way home from visiting the kids at deer camp this afternoon (new pacemaker, can't shoot) I stopped at my favorite component store. A few boxes of bullets and some powder on the shelves but no primers of any kind. I grabbed a few bags of 1 1/8 oz 12ga wads. Asked the owner when he expected shotgun primers. "I can let you have a thousand Federals for $31 since you've always been nice to me". Smiled, paid and thanked him effusively. First primers I've seen around here since July.

Had the owner/manager of my LGS motion me aside yesterday and let me have a thousand each of CCI SPM and LPM primers from under the counter, that he said came in just this week. Said hopefully, more are on their way, but for now he doesn't want to put 'em on the shelf for fear of hoarders and resellers. Like with PapaG, my LGS appreciates loyal customers.

Sadly the only shotgun primers I have seen around (but I haven’t looked incredibly hard) were the exact same price as buying new primed and skived hulls from BPI. Any guesses as to which route I went? Shipping wasn’t too bad so I got an extra bag of hulls.
