So, there has been some widespread request lately for reduced recoil loads for general use, youth loads, or just less shoulder wear.
I found another good one, and wanted to share it. For those of you that really want only published data, I found a few in the books and tried them. It was kinda spendy, going through them...... and I was about to give up. Thankfully, I didn't.
I had a little bit of BPI gift certificate left from Christmas, so I was able to get the components for BPI load # 30915 from the buckshot loading III handbook.
For those that don't have it, here it is :
12/2A Factory Primed Multihull 2.75" ( Per the nice gents at BPI, the Cheddite Multihulls they are ordering have the same exact dimensions as the Martigoni. They were right.)

1.25 oz lead buckshot ( I used #4 buckshot- 27 pieces, a little under 1.25oz, which is 29 pieces, although I tested both, the 27 just fits better, is more standard, and I noticed no significant difference in any regard other than crimping)
The book lists this load as 8600 PSI, and 1200 FPS
My chrony ran it 1218 to 1205 over 25 shots. I attribute the small amount of increased speed to column uniformity, and 2 less pellets.
The 29 pellet loads- I ran 5- were 1204, 1202, 1208, 1201, and 1202 again.
Since BPI has cheddite multihulls in clear, I also got to try these for the first time. I have to say, I really like the clear.
I sealed the primers and the business end with clear PVC cement for waterproofing as I've been doing it a lot more lately thanks to our abundant rain here in the NW.
The recoil was certainly in line with what you'd expect of a sub 9000 PSI load, but still cycled my buddies' beretta auto without a hitch.
Patterning was good- we got 4-5" at 10 yards, and dinnerplates at 25, using I/c from my mossbergs and M/C from the beretta.
If more pellets on target is the goal, with reduced felt recoil as a requirement, I'd give this load a try !
There was a little bit of unburnt bluedot. I guess thats the trade. If you used a hotter primer during reloading, you might be able to mitigate this.
I included a pic of the finished product, and the components as well.
These were assembled for testing on a Lee Load All II - for those of you who are also searching for a load that crimps perfectly with little practice and full closing force using that machine.
Unfortunately the flash on a camera does the clarity of the loaded hull a little disservice. You can clearly make out the load type through the hull with even a cursory inspection.
