I find man's attempts to "modernize" the 1911 unattractive and mostly useless

My favorite 1911's are an unaltered one from 1913 and the "junk yard dog" built on an defective Essex frame with all used/discarded parts from the shops junk drawer. Both shoot fine. The latter was tossed together in an hour, nothing staked or fitted and has held up for more than 1000 rounds.

"..with all the used/discarded parts from the shop's junk drawer..." LOL, I love seeing guy's faces when I show them one of those at the range chewing the center out of a target!
