Motorized RCBS Trim pro help?

596886C3-1569-48D5-A268-B710B39A9F03.jpeg So I got this motorized RCBS trim pro. I have an issue with the shaft not turning along with the motor’s shaft. Not sure if I installed the shaft to the motor’s shaft right? I am trying to trim some 9mm brass for use as bullet swaging jackets. But the motor’s shaft will turn but the cutter’s shaft won’t. Is the set screw suppose set in to both the cutter’s shaft and the motor’s shaft holes?

Never mind got it set right. Haha! But another problem arose after setting it. The metal shaft that sits in the rubber hose has completely made short work out of the rubber hose. Not sure why rcbs made rubber hose with two clamps on it? But will rcbs replace it? And are there better ways to “upgrade” that rubber hose? I am trimming 9mm jackets for bullet swaging. If that’s not possible are there other ways to to trim the 9mm casings? I have a Corbin SAW for cutting tubes but don’t have a jig to make repeatable cuts. Any ways or anyone that can help me out?
 
is that a factory setup? I can't imagine an engineer would use rubber hose and C clamps to connect a drive to a metal cutting tool.
That’s what I said. First time using this unit. But now I know where the “weak” point is on this thing now. Lord here I thought I was going to have a great time but noooo, not today buddy.... :fire::mad::cuss:
 
I’m sure RCBS would be very helpful, as they always are, but for some 1/2” hose and two clamps, Home Depot will have you running faster.

I can’t figure why the jackets would be more trouble than a case. Wish I could help more.:(

The rubber joint is there so it won’t hurt things if the two shafts are not in perfect alignment.

Lots of other ways to do the job but as you may have guessed by now a rubber hose and two clamps are the cheapest.

Any of these would likely be better, some might no be made for shafts as small as you have and all will be more expensive.

I motorized one some time ago and avoided the issue by not mounting the motor to anything except the shaft, so any runout could not bind anything. Just held the (old power window) motor vs the hand crank.

I replaced the rubber joint before I ever used mine. Electric fuel line hose (stiffer/stronger than normal hose) and screw clamps. No more slipping.

Sounds like a good idea!! Going to give it a try. What size will fit the shaft?
