Mossberg 500A Build

I have a Mossberg 500a that I'm moving from it's "poor mans" existence to a new tactical build.

First things up is a cerakote job, and some new furniture. I settled on the forearm and sights and such.

I bought the Ergo adapter to allow me to add any AR platform buttstock.

In reviews and photos, I fell in love with the Magpul UBR Stock (9-pos). It's more than half the price that I paid for the shotgun!!!!

Alternatives?

Perhaps I just need to realize my 80s Ford Pinto doesn't need Ferrari tires.

I have the Shockwave Raptor F1 forend... will add light to an m-lok mount. Will add light later.

The Fab Defense folder is nice. It's only a fraction less expensive than the UBR. I'm guessing you didn't compare the two - who can afford that - so what made you go with it, and are you happy with it?

I had both for a while. Had bought them on clearance waiting on a beat to hell 500. Finally found one. And it was bad. Lol. I duracoated it and put the stock and forearm on. It works well enough. The mossberg just isn't laid out for a pistol grip though.

The Magpul SGA is fantastic stock for Mossberg 500! I prefer it to any pistol grip stock I've seen.

All I did was add a full stock in place of to he PGO that came with my Cruiser and a side saddle mounted on the receiver. Cheap and works just fine.

I'm also a fan of the Magpul. I've used a few different stocks on my 500 in the years since I bought it, beat up, at a gun show for $75.
The Magpul is the best yet.
Early last year, pre-plandemic, I found a deal on ebay for the 20" barrel/long mag tube, so I changed it over. Sits in the closet right now, loaded with flitecontrol #1buck

I have a Model 500A (6-round mag tube) that was a pawnshop rescue. It came with a 24-inch barrel and x-full turkey choke. I bought a factory 18 inch barrel for it (home defense use) But I've been thinking about ordering the standard chokes for it (should come in handy for use outside the home) and it would give me a reason to pattern test the different loads I have stocked up.
