Favorite EDC multitool

I still like the surge. If you don't mind the sheath, it's a great tool.

Honorable mention to the SAKs, which I keep around, because I never found better tweezers, for splinters...

My wife has a "Blast" someone gave her. She takes it in her luggage when she travels, otherwise it resides in a drawer in the kitchen. I used to carry one of those Gerbers with an adjustable crescent when I worked around machines, it would occasionally save me a trip back to my office to get my tool bag. I've only ever used the Blast knife blade and the tiny eyeglass screwdriver myself which is why I've just been carrying a pocket slip joint for EDC the last 66 years or so.

I carry my dad's old Leatherman (purchased in the '80s at some point). Admittedly, there are a few things on his Wave that I'd really like to have, but for the most part the original gets it done. Only thing missing is the knife, most of which split off a long time ago, but the Buck knife that sits on my belt right beside it has me covered there!

Victornox multi tools the big one and medium fancy one, I don't know there names. Also on my bike the Schrade USA tough tool 21 STI is always in the fairing and the USA Schrade tough vise grip with blades in my truck door side pocket

I use a wave that was given to me as a safety award from my employer, it’s ok I guess. At work I carry it daily, but it stays it in my locker when I leave work.
Also used a craftsman/schrade ST5E years ago.
I recently ordered a Toler tool mainly because I want to see if it can live up the hype, which is unlikely, curiosity got me.

Leatherman Skeletool in my pocket every day. Broke a jaw off a while back and they repair quick and free. I was very happy they repaired it and not replaced it.

Those original leatherman tools hurt my hands with anything tight using the pliers. But. They are compact and fairly light.

The pain is what led me to Gerber multi plier. Not noticeably heavier, but they are bulkier. Plus they will never pinch your hands.

You do realize the early Gerber multi-tools are known as Mr Pinchy in the EDC/multi-tool world right?

The Leatherman Wave/Surge configuration is comfortable in the hand and less likely to punch than the Gerber. Plus allowed access to the blades without opening the pliers.

Leatherman Wave is nice, probably the best for the money. Surge is great for the car, but heavy. Have been carrying the Victorinox Swisstool Spirit for a while now. That's a good one too.

My Leatherman Sidekick goes everywhere with me, usually in a belt sheath but occasionally clipped in my pocket. Dropped it outside my father's cabin one Fall. Lay in the snow all Winter. Found it in the spring and stuck it right back in my pocket as good as new.

What I’m always looking for is a minimalist tool that doesn’t have a blade or the bazillion tools I’ll never use.

The Skeletool looks close.

LM Juice XE-6 is my EDC. A touch heavy, but I’ve carried it so long , I no longer notice. It resides next to my wallet, in my front pocket. Also present in that pocket is a 22” sq., hot dry ironed yellow cotton bandana , folded to pocket size, slipped into a sterile Gerber Breast Milk bag, tape reinforced edges for wear resistance and 48” inches of 2” Gorilla Tape over a piece of 4” clear plastic report cover, taped to Gerber bag. ( This gives me a clean bandage, chest wound sealer kit, sling, dust mask, signal flag, towel, repair tape & handkerchief.). The other front pocket has keychain with keys, Car fob, Util-key,Fenix EO-5 with lithium battery, Photon Freedom covered with yellow bulb, Yellow. Mini-Bic in a rubber tube holster, P-38, Christy Knife, Bison tube whistle ( medium size), Bison pill vial ( 4 children’s’ chewable 81 mg spirits, caffeine tablets, generic Benadryl tablets, generic pseudoephedrine tabs & ibuprofen tablets. The pill vial is wrapped in 12” of 2” Gorilla Tape.Add my iPhone 8S with Mophie battery case, carried somewhere on my person. I live urban. This kit, minus the LM and the Christy knife, will be allowed in airports, etc.

I carry a swiss army knife. Also keep one in the car. And one on my desk and one in my hunting bag.
Sounds like me. Which Swiss Army Knife do you prefer? My favorite is the "Tinker" model, and I probably have 4 of them stashed around here and there. I'm wearing a Swiss Army Knife that has the same blades as a regular old "Boy Scout Knife" in a homemade pouch on my hip right now. I'll bet I use that handy little knife for something or the other a half a dozen times every day.:)

I have the Surge and the Wave and both are more than I want to keep on my belt. The Surge is really nice and I keep it in the side pocket of my truck door so it's never too far away.

I've been using a Leatherman Wingman since I bought it new in 2013. I have it with me every day. Use it quite a bit at work. But I may upgrade to a Wave. I like having options.

Don't know how I missed this one, but mine is a Charge Titanium, given to me for working on a gun. My son broke the knife tip, :cuss: they replaced it with a brand new one. He also broke the tip off his Wave, they replaced the knife blade, then he lost it in the woods. :fire: My Dad had given it to my son for his 16th BD.

Go for it. I've had my Wave for 20 years or so and sometimes I think that I've done darn near everything except build a house with it. I just received it back from Leatherman for some warranty work (25 year warranty) and I'm sure it'll be good to go for many more years.
