I did this about a year ago and have maintained it. Insane how good I feel at (next week) 40. It absolutely helps in the woods. It took two years to drop sixty pounds primarily through diet. As far as exercise I live in the mountains and when time allows I take my dogs hiking, split and haul wood, and I work on my hunting land. Sadly, time doesn’t allow often. The only reason I mentioned living in the mountains is to point out that these hikes are much more than casual strolls.
Age 40? Just a puppy...........Give it another quarter century; when the "ITIS" brothers (Arthur, Burs, Tendon) hit every joint in your body you'll understand why some of us do more target shooting than hunting any more. My knees are never chasing chukar up shale and sage slopes again like they did when I was 40.
