Anaconda at Grabagun

Same with the new Python. Went into my local shop last week that I have bought from before at decent prices. He had a 4 and 6 inch new python listed at $2675 ea. I just chuckled and moved along. I'll just keep my 686's and 586, Rugers in .44 and be happy. The Pony is not worth it imo...

I think I am going to start a website that has noting but things for sale at ridiculously high prices. From $1000/100 primers to a $1,000,000 1976 Ford Pinto.

Then I will sell advertising spots biased on the traffic generated by all the threads that link to them...

My Army buddies and I went to a gun show in 1999. My roommate pick-up a NIB 6" King Cobra .357 for ~$500 and our friend got a NIB 6" Anaconda .44 for ~$700. Little did we know at the time how the market for those guns would change in the future.

Grab-A-Gun pricing has gotten a bit silly, to put it nicely.

On another note, I went into my LGS last week and they had a Colt King Cobra 3”. Very good looking gun. Out of curiosity I asked the price. It was $900. $1 over MSRP.
My favorite LGS has had very reasonable prices throughout all the silliness. They have integrity, unlike some others in the area.

At that price I will choose my no dash 686's like everyone else. I would put that kind of money on a Korth but not the ugly stuff that they conjured up with Nighthawk.

Similar with my LGS. Walked in and saw
A NIB 6” Python for Colts MSRP. I was pretty impressed by that.

My lgs had 3 or 4 pythons at msrp last time I went in. I respect that.

I purchased from grab a gun in the past. I won't anymore.

I've also seen insanity at sportsmans outdoor superstore. Another I bought from in the past.

These are really hard (no, wait... Stupid. Yeah) stupid times. Scared newbs I guess are paying 900 for a gp100 or closer to a grand for a 686 but, in the words of the voice of our generation, "c'mon man!".

C'mon man, indeed.

Not to get too political, but maybe this is hyper inflation?

Guns are durable goods. Could it be all the extra thousands folks on unemployment are getting, plus 3x stimulus, plus...?

Maybe 300-500 dollar revolvers are now 800-900, 900-1200 dollar revolvers are now 3500k (apparently).

Okay, idunno. It's a theory.

Now seems like a good biannual time for me to bring up the time I didn't buy a colt anaconda at gander mountain for 450 out the door.

The year was 2006. I'd just purchased a Ruger gp100 for 350 otd the day before. I spot the shiny devil from across the room.

I handle it, have the clerk double check the price. He confirms it. My wife (girlfriend at the time, yes, I still married her. I'm going for sainthood) poo pooed the matter and I let it slide. She made a lot of sense, it was fun money I didn't have. But I could've got it and sold stuff later. Ugh. The sins of our youth.

Grab-A-Gun should change its name to Clutch-your-Chest because the asking prices will cause a heart attack...

I’m seeing some things not sell and get relisted a few times over on GB when starting bid prices are wacky. Maybe that’s a bit of a sign that folks can ask for the moon but you won’t make many sales because people won’t pay insane prices.

Stay safe.

Yep! On Armslist California I saw a Rossi .38 revolver for $800 and a Taurus .38, I think it was an 85, listed for $900. Stupid. I have decided that I don’t care enough to track and see if they sell. I was just scanning for gold nuggets...there are none. Haha

WTFF? These people have lost their friggin' minds. I really hope no one is gonna pay two and a half times MSRP.

Clearly you are not familiar with Heckler & Koch SP5K-PDWs. :D

Interestingly enough, Grab a Gun usually has really good prices, even though that isn't the case here.

They typically do/did have good prices but they are trying to cash in on the uninformed like most....they have Pythons in stock for $2400...I did message them and told them that they are better than this....not that it means anything lol.

I don’t disagree, but there can be consequences. I really hope that people remember the local gun shops they encounter that are still trying to run a reputable business without throwing out outrageous prices to see who will bite.....and yes, I know some one will bite.
I have done quite a bit of internet sales with Grabagun and others but that will no longer happen, is that of consequence to Grabagun? Not at all....now if enough customers tell them to pound sand...it might be of consequence, it might not. Ultimately they and others can do whatever they want, that is capitalism and I hope it stays at least until I take a dirt nap.

IMHO, the asking price says more about buyers than it does the seller. I don't begrudge folks a little profit.
For an auction, I completely agree. If two (or more) prospective buyers get in a pissing match and drive the price 2-3 times what it should be, that’s on them. And I don’t begrudge anyone who wants to ask 2.5x MSRP of a firearm. Capitalism. A fool and his money as they say.

For the record, I have since decided to liquidate my firearms collection with the exception of family heirlooms. All firearms are set at 2.5x MSRP, or 2.5x NRA excellent value. Do to the expected influx of inquiring PM’s I’m about to receive, it may take longer than usual for me to respond. Holding breath starting......now.

Over the weekend, my LGS had a King Cobra in the case. They wanted MSRP and even during the madness had reasonable prices.

Now I just have to find a good holster for the KC
