Which forum to I post to for ammo concerns

Any modern factory ammo will be fine in those guns, assuming they haven't been adversely modified. 30-30 ammo is outrageously priced right now, when you can find it. For target shooting, just shoot whatever you can get the cheapest.

I agree with Hugger that any .30-30 ammo you can find is good for your Winchesters.

BTW, welcome to THR. You could have posted in the rifle forum, but this one should be acceptable also. If not, the mods will move it.
The "hottest" factory 30-30 rds I've chronographed so far have been Federal Fusion and Hornady Lever Evolution. Both were 2300 to 2400fps. Your guns can safely go to 2700 or more with 150gr or less bullets. 170gr and above probably need to be 2500 or less.

It's crazy what's going on with the 30-30 prices these days. I didn't think it extended to the guns themselves and the following isn't exactly proof that it does, but I was in a shop earlier today and everything there seemed to be reasonably priced but they had a couple used H&R handi rifles in 30-30 and they were both $399. Just seemed odd. I paid $80 for mine 10 years ago. I thought they were a couple hundred bucks normally.

The rifles are priced ridiculously also. Marlin 336 that was $350 pre-panic is now $600. Same with Model 94's. If I was going to get one today I would probably get a Henry. They were $650 pre-panic and they are still just under $700.

I’ve been seeing 30-30 at Walmart lately for their regular price. Keep watching for it.

Wait a month or so as the ammo shelves fill back up, and buy a box of as many kinds as you are comfortable with.
From my experience, one of the rifles will "prefer" a different ammo than the other.
And, also from my experience "you" are a significant part of the equation, too.
You find an ammo that is tight for you and the rifle, pass it over to another, and the group will change.

Also, given that most folks only expect their "dirty-dirty" to hit minute of pie plate (while being capable of better) so "target ammo" and .30-30 will have less of an "equals sign" for many folks.

There is no "modern" vs "antique" distinction in .30-30 ammo. It's all original spec, and will be fine in your well-experienced rifles.

This is the truth! You may get lucky and find something that both rifles like, but not likely. My friend has a model 94 that loves Remington Core Loc 170gr, and 190gr silver tips. mine does not like either. Win 150 or 170 sp was the ticket for mine in factory ammo before Lever Evolution came out. I'm still testing those.
