From Texas, recent LTC and beginning my collection. Leaning towards .32 revolvers at this time.[/QUOTE
Need something to do. Five minutes ago decided to explore holy grail prospects re rounding up one each S&W Mods 16, 30, 31. Surprised to see other folk interested in .32s. Got a couple Seecamp .32s, a Beretta Tomcat, mostly due availability. Good luck.

Hi all,

New to the forum and I'm from upstate NY. Been a lurker for a while and figured I'd start an account. I like historical weaponry.

IoneDS, it is good to hear from you. We are happy to hear that you have decided to join the give-and-take. Our interests vary widely, and there are few subjects that have not been dealt with by other members. We try to maintain a friendly atmosphere, and to provide a refuge from the trash talk and hard sells so common on the net these days. Thanks for the introduction and we hope you enjoy your time here.

I want to thank the staff for letting me in. I've seen this place pop-up in my searches for questions on guns many times which has helped me several times, looks like a nice place to hang out.
I'm down in So. east AZ. Had guns since I was 10 years old and that would be 55 years ago when I got granpa's Little Scout.

Oh forgot, had to try at least ten different names before I got one that wasn't taken already.

We're glad you persisted, plainsdrifter! We do try to provide a haven on the information highway, where one can find answers to questions and provide answers to others' questions, in a friendly way. It's so easy to be rude and crude in this electronic milieu, we like to provide a safe environment for discussion and enlightenment. I hope you learn something and help others learn as well. Thanks for signing up and welcome to the community!

Welcome aboard, LEP! I see a number of meanings for LTC and I'm guessing you don't mean long-term care. Please help me out!

Once .32 revolvers roamed the earth, but I don't see nearly as many in recent years. The newer versions don't seem to sell in large numbers, but make a lot more sense with high velocity and well designed bullets. I hope you can find some good information in the general handgun and revolver section. Enjoy!

Thank you... and yes, fortunately not long term care :). License To Carry (LTC). The forum has provided some good insight so far.

Hi!
This thread is a place for new THR members to introduce themselves.

Tell us a little about who you are and what kind of gun stuff you're interested in!
I'm a single father raising an amazing 14yr Old Son, we're about to dip our toes into BP. We were sighting in our deer rifles last fall and a gentleman had a NMA that my son was enamored with and even more so after shooting it. So I looked for a few months and last week I found a decent deal $240 shipped on a 1974 Euroarms '1858' that needs a touch up bluing from being in a holster "minor pitting" and the grips are delaminating and realized that I'm going to need some help and I found THR. I look forward to making new like" minded" friend's. Sorry for rambling on Stay Safe and Take Care
Heres a list of my guns.
1949 M49 Ithica .22 Lever action
2 Winchester 30-30's 1 new & 1 older
J. Stevens Double Barrel
Heritage Rough Rider
Remington Mauser was told its a 1903 model but it was a converted into a older comp. rifle with glass bead scope mounts and custom stock all done in the 1960's. my Grandfather gave it to me for $100 bill..
Marlin .22 Mag
Remington 870 Wingmaster
hi-point 9mm 21st Birthday Gift

Welcome aboard, John570. Guns are fascinating in all flavors, and many need a bit of TLC from a lifetime of hard work or a bit of negligence. We will be happy to help with any questions and look forward to the benefit of your experience. The ambiance of this part of the internet is civility, so I hope you will feel at home.

Thank You very Much for the welcoming. Every person I've spoke to has been nothing but kind and respectful. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time out of your day to respond. I'm sure we'll run into each other again.
STAY SAFE AND TAKE CARE

New guy here - ( retired firefighter) from upstate NY. Enjoy all firearms, handguns, rifles, shotguns, trap, skeet, reloading, etc. Newly acquired a higher-end .22 cal. air rifle, RWS Diana 460 Magnum, that I am just learning to use. - (Purchased mainly for vermin control during the present ammo shortage.) - Hope to expand my knowledge by studying at the feet of the Masters here, heck, maybe I can contribute something, too. Thanks for having me - may all your shots be in the X-ring!

Welcome to you, wizrd! While there are more than a couple masters in the ranks, most of us just enjoy firearms and shooting and swapping information, observations and preferences. We have found that when the tone is civil, the flow of good information is highest. Don't be afraid to ask, don't be put off if some responses seem short. We're all dealing with our own challenges, and some days are better than others ;)

Nice to meet you Wizrd, I just started here this week and have asked a lot of questions and not once anyone disrespectful every single person I met only want's one thing and that's to Help/Educate so I hope you enjoy your RWS I actually just picked up a RWS .22 Blank Revolver its the 1966 Model never been fired still has the box and papers. I actually purchased it from my local Flea Market for my 14yr old son to learn how to handle a revolver comfortably before we move on to the real thing. But I will tell you the .22 cal Pellet Rifles are impressive not to mention it's a RWS.

Hello, just checking in. Been reading this forum for years and finally decided to join now that I'm out on property and able to shoot more. This site and tractorbynet have been great resources for rural living and general hunting/shooting/gardening type stuff, so thanks for that. Hoping to get in some more practice and put some food on the table by end of year.

We are glad to have been helpful in the past, and look forward to mutual benefit in the future. It sounds like you are living the dream of many who live in or near the cities. I am sure it has been a learning process, and look forward to hearing more about your experience. I will also have to check out tractorbynet, as I am looking for a small utility tractor. Thanks for the intro, and I hope you continue to enjoy THR.

I've already made a couple posts without introducing myself, my bad. I'm Ron, just an average ordinary citizen who appreciates the value of self preservation and the protection of others. A few years ago I decided to get back into firearms after leaving the Navy in 2004. I had minimal training on the M16, Beretta M9 and some kind of 12ga. (forget which), and I decided it was time to start training again. I also enjoy reading about history, playing guitar and piano, cooking weird things like spaghetti pizza and chili cheese dog egg rolls.

I make it a point to treat everyone how I like to be treated, and I've found that mindset to be working out very well for me. If someone fails to reciprocate, I either return the favor and move on with my life, or I ignore them completely and still move on with my life. I'm getting too old to give way to cancel culture, PC this & that, 134 different gender identities and other frivolous first-world problems. I respect different backgrounds, education and life experiences so long as others respect mine. Live and let live.

Welcome to THR, SquidBubble! We're all just getting along, doing the best we can with what we have. Intros are not required, but a good way to learn a bit about new folks and helps to see where you are coming from. We are glad you are joining us, no matter your taste in pasta and asian cuisine! What a sad world it would be if we were all alike. We do share a love of shooting sports, however, and most of us are still trying to learn. Thanks for the introduction, and we hope you enjoy the experience.
