Three of mine are blessed with decent accuracy, my romanian 5.45 on the other hand is a different story. Hit the notebook sized sheet of paper or miss it at a hundred yards. You can't take credit for hitting it, nor would I blame you for missing it. The thing shoots about 8in groups, with or without optics and a lot of ammo has been tried over the years. And the 7n6 ammo I have shoots great in an AR I have. In the romy, it shoots like everything else. So until I spend the time to discover why it is so inaccurate, its role in life is entertaining new shooters with clay pigeons on the 25yd line. They love it. Had a few new shooters complain the AR "had too many buttons", but they all loved the little AK.

I bought that one for 400 or so 20 years ago Came with over 2k rounds of 5.45 (sportsman choice and wolf. Looks about the same) and 10 or so of those mags. And 1 10 rd mag. I know nothing about it. Shoots good.

I figure it's a junk gun. The name and numbers look to be dremeled on by a 4 year old.


I do have a question. Why do almost all AK, Even American built ones, not come with the cleaning rod. I used to assume it was the parts compliance BS. But ive seen American ones say the same thing.
 
The writing on my SAR1 looks like that. Looks like Kathren Hepburn was the one using the pen. You can hardly read what it says. :)

Still, even with its slightly canted front sight, it shoots like this from a cross legged sitting position at 200 yards just banging away. And with Wolf 154 grain SP's yet. The lower group was fired from a rest prone to confirm zero.

Mine groups well also. I killed several groundhog at 100-150 yards with it back when I got it. Probably 2-3 MOA with the crap Russian ammo and bad sights even though it did have the side mount. I was impressed by the accuracy. Far better than the other semi autos id had up till that point. Then I packed it up in some American version of cosmoline goo. Lol.

Some Norincos came with cleaning rods. Pretty sure my Maadi had one too. You aint missin much, though. They rattle, and, being steel, can do more harm than good if overused on the chrome bores.

Nah. I probably have 20 different cleaning rod. Lol But still always thought it odd that even high dollar AK usually say "cleaning rod not included". They should hire Glock to make a standard sized one out of polymer. Would cost about 12 cents and then they wouldn't have to put that message on there
 
crestoncowboy: My SAR-1 has the exact same 'dotted' words on the receiver. This was done in the Romanian factory, from what I read on AKfiles (?).
Why do so many of our dufuss politicians believe in "Drive By Bayonetings :what:" --- with an AKM? They weren't worried about the SKS' bayonets ;).

Apparently they saw any mil. AKM feature -- although these mounts and pistol grips, flash hiders are not known to help kill people in the US -- as just one more feature possessed by the AKM Evil Spirits o_O. Witchcraft.

Extra, extra, read all about...my recent Czech VZ-58 actually Has the mount for the bayonet!:confused: And its nice German Lothar barrel came Threaded !! It's all so logical, now - dontcha see ?:D

ONE of the dumbest arguments through the years....gee it doesn't have a bayo lug....gee it doesn't have a cleaning rod under the barrel....UGH!
 
Navy87Guy has a red dot scope on his AKM.

How can the rest of, or most of you guys claim that an AKM only shoots an “X” size group if your rifle’s sights can not compare with either good apertures or a Red Dot etc?

I’m only pointing out that if all AR-15s came from their factories with —AK sightso_O—, despite different .223 ballistics in typical ARs (also-AKMs in .223) the comparisons might have some validity.

That scribbling electro pencil used by Romanians on AKs is very typical.
The writing on Century’s US-made AKs might look better, but the cheaper quality of steel used in some isn’t nearly as durable as what has been used in the Romanian rifles.

Check Rob with AKOU, tests many rifles gradually to 5,000 rounds, while hoping that bolt lug wear and headspace endure.

-I’ll take the milspec guns with scribbling-.
All of mine are imports.

Not saying your dumb bro.....just saying I've never understood people pointing out some have no bayo lug or cleaning rod......I've had 10 AKs of various verifies with and without.....this is the only one I kept..... don't really care about bayo lug or cleaning rod......nice rifle you got there.
