Front Pocket Holsters

Absolutely! I took a class two years ago that we were having to slide down the chair to “straighten” to be able to draw from AIWB. I use that method when drawing from my pocket. If I haven’t moved my pistol from front pocket to cargo pocket, the easiest sitting down draw for me.

To think you are going to sit there when an event occurs, is not thinking things through. 99% of the time time I’m sure I’m going to be count the floor tiles and trying to get into the grout! LOL me no stay upright for possible incoming from unfriendly.

I find that those who preach “one weapon one place always”, tend to be more game shooters. They worry about times, since that is what there status is based on. Shorter times, means higher status. There are no timers in the real world, as Clint Smith said. We aren’t going through a preplanned course that we have walked through and have mentally figured out our plan. We have to gather information and make the best possible shot with that information.

And this is no dig at comp shooters, as I be one. But I keep games and the real world separated.

Alabamaholster.com front pocket holster— as several have mentioned. I have one for my P938 (EDC gun) and find it a near-perfect solution. They take awhile to ship, but it’s worth the wait.
Alabama gets my vote also. PIA to wait the 4 to 6 weeks for delivery but worth it.

Good list - thanks! This one is especially useful, as they actually list holsters for wide vs. narrow slide on the Beretta Tomcat.

I’ve been looking for one for the new (wide) mode that I recently bought. I have a Galco holster for my 25-year-old (narrow) Tomcat. While the wide-slide gun will fit in the holster, it’s so tight the holster would still be attached to the gun if I were to draw it from the pocket.

I’ve used a lot of different ones. I had a Mika that was probably my favorite. I mainly use DeSantis either the Nemesis or the superfly, used and like both.

I tried one of this as well, and so long as you don’t squat, bend, or do anything else that causes your gun to move in your pocket you may be ok. Mine came off of the trigger guard several times in the two days I used it, after that I literally threw it in the garbage. I view it as dangerous if you do manual labor at all.

after reading this thread I’m gonna have to try an Alabama holster, somehow I’ve never tried one, seems like I remember them them being a little pricy for kydex.

I own one for a j frame and really like it. Be advised it does present a rather wide footprint due to the wings on both sides, which helps it to stay in the pocket remarkably well. It does take a touch of break in time, but that’s to be expected with well fitted leather. Mine is now well broken and you can still shake it upside down and the gun won’t fall out.

I had one that way, it was for a P938. Just never snapped on right. Soured me in them for awhile. Thinking it was just a bad one since my buddy ordered one for his P938 and it fit perfectly. The ones I have for my G42, LCPII, BG380, and frames all have been good. Only one that I really don’t care for it the one I have for my G26/27/33. It works, just doesn’t break the outline up like the Alabama Holster does. Looks like a Sub Compact Glock outline, LOL.

Used to carry a J-frame in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. Worked great when I was front desk clerk at a motel.

If you pocket carry, carry a backup on the ankle. You just aren't going to draw from the pocket when seated.

One downside of the Nemesis: gun falls out of pocket if doing crunches or situps.

To stay awake (and get into shape) I'd do sets of 35 pushups and 35 situps while working the night shift at the motel. Thankfully no one saw my .38 fall out of my pocket the first time I did crunches behind the front desk!
