Anybody recognize this?

Well 25 gun and reloading knowledgeable people responses so far has not come up with an identify answer. I am pretty sure it is not a throttle body linkage unless it came off a magnetic propulsion system on an alien space ship. (unlikely). It however looks to be a possible important part so you would be wise to keep it, and to do so in a safe place. Because of the location it most likely came off something you own , and will become apparent when something you own malfunctions. Best of luck with your research and hope ID of the part can be found soon. My best guess is that it is not a gun part, but if it is considering its size, I would be looking at a rifle part rather than a pistol part, but who knows ? Since I have never seen this before if it is a gun part it should be a newer type product as I stopped doing gun work about a decade ago. I would look carefully at your reloading equipment, or other devices you have in the room. Good luck

Now I'm going to have to watch this thread to see if you find out what it is. I could swear it looks familiar to me but don't have a clue where I might have seen it.

I'm baffled. Ignition Override seems to have the most likely identification.

I found this on the floor of my reloading room. I'm not sure if it is a firearm related spring or something else.View attachment 1010694
Any help will be appreciated.
Not knowing what else could be in your house, I'm gonna guess it's gun related (I might be wrong).
Do you have any shotguns in your collection or Ruger Mk I, II or III?
For now, I'm gonna guess it could be shotgun related, maybe a Slide Lock spring or a Slide Lock Release spring or maybe even a Lifter spring like this one from a Savage shotgun.

(Seems my image isn't showing up)

Anyway...
The shape of the spring will depend on the shotgun brand and model. I've actually seen these springs fall out on their own when racking the pump or slide. If you're lucky, you'll notice the spring falling out, otherwise, you won't know until you want to use your shotgun and it doesn't work right.
Anyway, just guessing. Good Luck.

Looks like what can be used to "feel" the inside of a bottleneck case for weak spots leading to an incipient case head separation. Just a homebrew version.

It seems to be 'made' (reshaped) from a paper clip. It looks like a home made tool to feel around in fired cases - with the 90 degree end - and 'feel' for incipient head separations.
Kinda like this one shaped from a piece of tie wire? I didn't have a paper clip handy when I built it.;)

I've seen wires like that in two uses: 1) an old style primer feed release on a brass cartridge press; and 2) off of a Hornady 366 Auto, shot shell progressive press.
