I found a pound of this really cheap a while back. I worked up some 38 spl. 148gr. SWCHP with it a couple weeks ago. It seemed to do pretty well. Of course I was shooting off hand out of a snub nose, so the groups weren’t spectacular. I sold my 357 a while back, but I’m saving for another. It will be a 5” S&W Performance Center. When I get it, I’ll do some actual accuracy tests with those loads.
Anybody else use this powder for anything?

Yup. Some of the regulars here told me it’s a good light load 9mm and .40S&W powder. They weren’t wrong. So far it’s been an easy powder to find uses for: 200gr LSWC .45ACP, 180gr LRNFP .40S&W, 125gr LRN-NLG 9mm, 95gr LTC .380ACP. All lead loads so far have been accurate and low dust, no leading. But, I go for accuracy, not flame and fury.

Nice! I thought about using it in 40 S&W myself. I’ve got a box of 165gr. Berry’s I might try it with.

I tried a 3.5gr load with X-Treme 155gr RNFP and got real good accuracy out of my Springfield XDm 4.5 at around 800fps. That’s a drop the cases on your foot load. 7.2gr of AA#5 with the same bullet is almost as accurate and makes right at 1000fps. Of course, it’s slinging the cases into low orbit but, who cares?

I wanted to try it but the published data max was a bit under my comfortable minor PF (130). It’s a faster than Red or Clays on the burn chart. I had it on an order that got cancelled and never reordered. Anyone use this in competition? I’m always looking for another powder.

I used a couple cans of it in past years. It's much like other fast burning shotgun/pistol powders, working well in the same applications. It's light in color making it easy to see in the cases, and it flowed reasonably well i\through my powder measure. But it is not as low cost as it appears. The bottles contain 12oz., versus 1lb. (16 oz.) for most other powders. So you only get 75% as much powder in the bottle.

I did notice the 8lb containers were much larger than the gallon container used for tac.

I didn’t notice that when I bought it….. Oh well, I’ll still get a ton of loads out of that.
