Once you go flint, you never go back. Excellent shooting. That’s a hell of a tight ball/patch combo!! How about a pic of your rifle.
 
Well, the Kibler isn't my gun. My flintlock is an Investarms sorta Hawken.

Fun part, the owner was having trouble getting a group. He asked me to have a look at it. I had him load it and from that point just told him to let me shoot it and let's see if his problems were operator error. Turns out they were.
 
Hardest part about shooting a rocklock is follow through, lots going on right in front of your face. Cheap way to practice is with a spring powered air rifle. If you can get good groups offhand with that spring bouncing back and forth that can be transitioned to a flinter.
 
How hard is that combination to load? Seems awfully tight. I love my flint locks, but I don't want to hammer the ball and patch into the barrel, I prefer a snug fit.

It's tight but not insanely so. It sure doesn't go down as easy as my minie ball musket
 
Flintlocks. Yeah, they shoot ok.

Lyman GPR. 50 caliber LRB .490” w. 0.010 ticking. 90 grains FFg Goex. Iron sights. 100 yards benched.
