I love the grip adapters and I’m doing a little shopping on flea bay for one and the prices are high as Biden’s budget! The Tyler website shows like 40-50 bucks but they’re some at auction for triple digits! Are the Old ones are better than the new or something? Tell me all about both brands and please post pics!

I have several Tyler's. A few years ago, they closed up shop due to the owners medical problems. During the shutdown prices for used ones on eBay were crazy. Since then, they have gone back in business. I have bought new T-Grips along with trigger shoes from Tyler. I can tell no quality different in the new vs the old.

Some have noticed that the new Tyler T Grip Company have had problems keeping up with demand. It is a small one man operation and pours the adapters when he gets sufficient orders. Then the adapters need to be finished before being shipped. This takes time and it is the owners non primary job. So, folks that have an abundance of them can put them on eBay and get a premium as the will ship immediately. Of course, you pay for that instant gratification.

If you don’t need an aluminum adapter, B K Grips offers a polymer grip adapter and ships promptly.

I have tried them all, B K, Mershon, S&W, Pachmyar, and Tyler. They all work as advertised.

Grip adapters are neat and traditional but good aftermarket grips can duplicate factory grips with a grip adapter.

But grip adapters are pretty cool. Here are a couple of J frames. One with an adapter and one with grips t ha t ore or less duplicate an adapter.

I have tried BK adaptors on my model 36 and my model 10. Both worked well. The K frame model needed some minor fitting that was easily enough done with a small file.

I could still kick myself. A guy offered me a box that had 3 or 4 Tyler T grips in it at a gun store a few years ago and I passed on the offer as the guy was acting a bit squirrelly. He had a bunch of guns he inherited and was there getting them priced. The gun store owner said he “could keep that junk box”. Oh well…

I believe turnaround time of Tyler's is the biggest reason for the prices on Ebay. Getting it now vs waiting, etc.
It's been 3-4 years since I bought from Tyler's but it took several months and a few phone calls before I got the adapter.
IIRC he was in the middle of retooling or moving or something, and he did always either answer the phone or call me back and update me, so I can't fault anything there.
It was as nice as any, just took a while to get.

You tube reviews aren’t very good about Tyler’s customer service and fitment. If I get one maybe the ivory on my m64 with magnas might look “unique” lol

The metal Tyler T grip may not be kind to ivory. They are certainly not not kind kind to wood.

Some time ago, I stopped liking grip adapters, and it was not because they left wear marks on the grips. With mild cartridges, I simply found them unnecessary, and with Magnums, I needed totally different grips, that were not compatible with grip adapters.

Of course, we all have different hands. Others’ experiences will differ.

I like K-Frame Magnas, as-designed. (I absolutely love the feel of N-Frame Magnas, but cannot reach the trigger face, well enough for ideal placement for DA shooting, so, have not used N-Frames, for a quite long time.)

... I wasn’t attacking eBay, just being silly. I didn’t know you were on the payroll there. It’s cool.. at least you work!
I do not work for EBay , just tired of people bashing for the sake of bashing. That was a joke , perhaps?

As to grip adaptors , I like the Tyler product , but I know that I lack the patience to cope with their strained logistics - so I went with BK. BK adaptors have the advantage of a more secure attachment by way of 2 sets of tangs rather than 1 as with Tyler. Turn around time was great.

Ive been giving BK my business for a while now. Hes good to deal with, has a good product, and ships quickly.

I used to look for the Tylers, and still have a few, but dont even bother trying to track one down anymore. I think the BK's are the better option these days.

This one just showed up in the mail today. Ordered it Friday. :)

Love the stags!

Love the stags!
Thanks. :)

They came with a 2.5" 19 I picked up a little while ago and I didnt like them on that gun and put a set of Magnas and a BK grip on it. Was going to sell the stags on eBay when I got around to it. Had the 686 out the other day and saw the stags on the table and figured I pop them on and see what it looked like and I liked the look.

They are a tad fatter/larger than the Magnas I like, but not too bad. We'll see how it goes. :)

I have never been able to find any love for them and much prefer grips that fill up that space.

Generally speaking , that is my practice too. In the case of the two revolvers shown in #14 I did not want to separate the original grip panels from the revolvers. That model 10 and flat latch Chiefs Special are not particularly collectible , but they are (IMO) somewhat iconic , so in the case of that pair I went with the adaptors. There is a definite improvement in handling characteristics.

Have had this Tyler T-Grip adapter for quite a few years. Started off on a nickel plated S&W Model 38. Polished it up a bit so it would look more in keeping with the overall mirror-like shine. Traded the Model 38 in on something else but kept the T-Grip. Didn't take all that long before I found a new home for the adapter with my then new Model 649. It's been with the gun ever since.

I want to get closer to the front of weapon so I’m more in the first distal joint. I think magnas will let me get the gun deeper in my hand- the uncle mikes have a lot of rubber on the backside
