I am building a 6mm Creedmore on a Remington 788 action.
My 101 rounds of brass came yesterday. Tonight I decided to begin brass prep. Here is a before and after photo of a sized case. Before on the top, after on the bottom. What the heck?
This is a new one on me.

Sizing die is the Redding Type-S Match Bushing Full Die Set 6mm Creedmoor.
At first glance I would say the die was mis adjusted, but that is definitely not so. My second thought is that the new cases are misformed. But that doesn't look right either. Is it possible I have defective die?

So we are looking at the neck and shoulder. The reflection of the brass, on one another, had me looking elsewhere. Interesting.

WHOA!

With another case, blacken the case neck to shoulder junction and shoulder to wall junction with a sharpie (let the ink dry).

Back off the sizing die, turn in 1/2 turn at a time, and report back. Pictures would be great.

That die needs to be backed out some so the die neck doesn't hit the shoulder.
You should be able to fire form the case that the neck crushed on.

Glad you got that one figured out. I'll be interested in how this rifle works out for you. I have a Rem 788 in 6mm Rem that is pretty much shot out after too many trips to the Dog towns. Been thinking about re-barreling it.
