“Hi Power” from Springfield..

Watched a couple video's and does look like another winner for SA. Only thing I saw I would like changed was the rear sight seemed like a poor idea. For the price they are asking though looks like this could be fixed.

Definitely looks interesting. I see it mentions a 15-round mag; this is nice, but it'll lose appeal for me if it won't accept the boxful of 13-round HP mags I already own ;)

This bears looking into once all this shortage foolishness abates.

I have a 1990 vintage Hi Power that needs a friend.

The 15rnd capacity is a game changer, I think. And modern manufacturing techniques can only be positive.

Why insist on a Belgian made model anymore?
I'm honestly surprised it took so long to get new production models, being such an iconic arm.

I think it's a great addition to their catalog. Like Springfield or not, them bringing a piece like this to market is good for gun lovers. Well done Springfield.

Mec-Gar has made 15-round Hi Power mags for many years. Given that they've already said that the SA-35 will take standard Hi Power grips, then the grip length isn't any longer and they're probably just including those 15-round Mec Gars or their own clone of those with the gun. While their offering does look nice (and has definitely put my plans to have my Hi Power cut for new sights, safety, etc on hold), the Hi Power has always had the option to be a 15-round gun.

The gun’s design & function was just too good for it to stay permanently discontinued. The retail price is $300 less than the going price for a Browning HP at the time it was discontinued years back. This Springfield HP has what look to be decent sights. I won’t know how good the trigger is until I get to try one for myself. I’m wondering if this one has a mag disconnect(?)
