LOL! your thread title had me confused. But guess you know.

SA just came out with the compact XDm 10MM, so I wonder what happened unless they are going with an optic version.

But the gun is made in Croatia, so the war in Ukraine cannot be helping production or logistics…

ETA, just ran through the entire web site. Only the compact 10MM is there…sad. But I still suspect the war has something to do with it.

A mind is a terrible thing to lose!

Glad I got mine last year, but I noticed SA discontinued the 10mm XDMs a few weeks before Shot Show and figured that SA was going to release the 10mm XDM Elite at SS, but it hasn't happened. Maybe because of this:

Yeah, Springer was pretty well set to give Glock competition in the 10mm polymer market, but now seems to have withdrawn the large XDM in favor of the compact only.

To me, that signals they’re either getting out of the 10mm gun-market (doubtful, given how many others are in, or getting into it, like S&W) or they’re planning to offer other types/sizes of 10mm models.

I do not think the Ukraine issue has to do with it, They have other guns made in Croatia (which is pretty far from the Ukraine action)

I sent them a e mail, see if they reply.

I have it in the 5.25" (precision) model and love it! Several have the 4.5" and the osp version I know. Now the 3.8"? Every year its add 1 then drop it for some reason? These reasons just makes me not like SA! The only thing consistent with SA is their m1a line.

Checked out the S&W. Was really disappointed with how...nonexistent the trigger reset was. I'll be waiting on the Springfield update. I'd bet we're going to see a version of the Hellcat in 10 & 45.

Unlikely as they just dropped a new model Hellcat that also comes from Croatia, and more unlikely as it's clearly on the discontinued models page:

Springfield is revamping the XDM line to the upgraded XDM Elite. I expect to see add’l XDM Elites in 10mm to mirror the former 4.4” and 5.5”XDM OSP models.

I have also made mine my primary carry, I am quite fond of it. I see both of you have opted not to use the awkward and uncomfortable magwell. I hated it and decided not to use it but decided I still wanted the extra length of grip it provided on the back against my palm. So I sanded mine down with a belt sander and took off most of the exterior flare particularly where the pinky wraps around, really took a lot of material off here. anyway its not the prettiest thing but it is VERY comfortable now. 16475732966518206537838358642743.jpg

XDME Compact 10mm my primary carry

Buckeye63, mine will be shortly. Still working out the confidence requirements I set before taking over the EDC role.

I've been trying to wring out my XDM Elite for CCW, but been too busy to really work up loads and get completely comfortable with the gun. Plus, still trying to find a holster that works. The cheap paddle holster from SA works fine, but was hoping to find a comfy OWB leather holster with thumb strap.

Yea my hand is too big to use the mag well comfortably. Since I’ve removed mine, the rear strap pin tents to walk out a bit. I may sand mine down like you did and try it again.

I have a great 165 gr Speer Gold Dot JHP load with AA9 for personal protection and am going to run some Underwood 165 gr JHP @1400 fps and 718 fpe out of it this weekend. The gun shoots my stout load of 800X under 180’s just fine but I’m looking for a little more speed out of the 3.8” barrel.

Underwood has it in stock with 15% off right now.

I wish they had skipped the weird funnel and just extended the grip and contoured the magazine well opening. The flare on the funnel is way too exagerated.
