Local shop has one for $1000. Excellent condition overall, though the shoulder stock and forend are very different colors of wood. Has a Parker/ Hale peep sight.

I know almost nothing about these except they look cool and Ive always kinda wanted one.

Price seems a little high (but what isn't these days), however these dont grow on trees......

Anything I should watch out for before buying?

I've got this one

It's a converted cadet, Remington match master barrel , hand carved stock. I paid $500 about 10 years ago and figured it was a screaming good deal, took it to my gunsmith for a checkup and thorough cleaning, he wanted to buy it and asked me if I had a price I'd sell it for. I declined and shoot it occasionally, shoots better than I can. I wouldn't take $1000 for it, guess it just depends on what it is and how it shoots. Mine can make a ragged hole at 50 yards with good ammo.

Ya, Im gonna offer em $800 cash and see what they say. Wish me luck!

I think we are at the point where prices are accelerating at a rate not seen in the last fifty years, perhaps ever in history if they keep accelerating at the current rate.

We are currently doing some upgrading on our home, and I’ve told my wife we are going to buy what we can at the price we can while we can. I see no reason to think firearms will be any different. It would not surprise me to see a 15-20% price increase by next year

Well, that stinks

It’s like they say on American Pickers. The time to buy it is when you see it. May not see it again

problem is, AFAIK it’s not currently made. I have no idea how good a chance of finding another is. If they’re even semi available, no big deal.

About 7 years ago, wife and I had been looking for a home for maybe a year. Realtor called and said she had one that was going on the market the next day.

It was exactly what we were looking for. At first I was going to offer less than asking price. Their asking price was actually quite reasonable

Realtor just gave me the “what are you thinking?” look. We offered them full asking price of $239,000 and got accepted before the home even hit MLS.

I found out a few days later that three other people were going to look at the house the next day. It would have been gone

With the upgrades we’ve done it would sell today for about $450,000

my theory is that if I’m going to buy something to flip I make my money when I buy, not when I sell. Gotta get it for the right money or pass. But if it’s something for me, grab it while I can

YMMV

Soooooo......I ran down there today at the first opportunity (lunch break), and- it was gone. :(

I can relate except it was a left hand prone anschutz I could never find. Anyway, about 20 something years ago I call up this person I never heard of before, Mac Tilton, and ask if he had any left handed BSA Internationals for sale. No he says but leave your name/number. I did and forgot about it. Six months later I get a call from Mac and he says he might have an LH, ISU international... you interested? I say ok and he says he'll call me back. Then I forgot about it. Three months later he calls back and says it's good to go. If I recall, it costed $850 with scope mounts and PH sights. He or his smiths needed to work on it. I've owned a Rem 37 and Win 52; good rifles. But I'll never sell the BSA. I think these rifles are gems. Worth searching/waiting for. Top dollar ok.

Thats the thing.....it was listed as "In Stock" when I found it on their website Saturday- and of course they were closed Saturday and Sunday. So, either the website wasnt updated, it sold early Monday morning, or one of their employees grabbed it.......
In any event, nothing I could have done. Oh well.
