Well, not really....this could go in several different forums but I want to talk about handloading the 22LR. It isn't reloading per se, but it is handloading.

In December's volume of NRA's Shooting Sports USA they talk about loading the 22LR for long range competition. It's at:
https://www.ssusa.org/articles/2021/12/27/handloading-22-lr-for-competition

On these cold winter nights it's a fun read, but for me I don't think I would try it. I love to tinker and play with things in the garage, but my cell phone taught me that 1/2" fingers don't always do what you want on 1/4" icons on the keypad.

The article "feels" like it is written for beginning loaders; we probably have the scales to do the job.

Once upon a time there was a metallic silhouette division that favored handloaded .22 WMR. No custom bullets required, just Sierra MKs. I don't recall the dies, and powder charging was a bit scary.

my question is, if this is good match ammo, which it probably is, why are they not using this bullet in fully assembled .22 LR that we can buy off the shelf or special order. AKA, why is Norma or Eley or Federal not putting this bullet in .22lr match ammo and selling it at a premium?

I like to reload as much as the next guy, but, don't have a desire to handload .22lr, maybe I am not that competitive (lol).

I have a bunch of different .22lr match ammo brands that I run through my rifles to see which it likes better, once I find one that works well, I buy more for that rifle, now to be fair, I only have 2 .22lr Rifles I consider worthy of calling "accurate" target rifles, so, maybe that only applies to me.

good idea! pull the .22LR and re build it with good powder and replace with .22 caliber bullets.

anybody know if they make a .22LR dies?

Old West has shell holder and heel bullet crimp dies, also molds; but not a seater.
CH lists .22 LR dies.
The poster known as w44wcf or w30wcf improvised a seater out of a bullet sizer, but "John Boy" uses a CH die for .22 black powder loading.

Would the Cutting Edge dies work with lead bullets?

Here are a couple of their threads on the subject. They did some with smokeless, too, if you search around.
