Looking to pick up a trail cam and did a search on here for some possible models/ brands.

Seems like the older models were more reliable ?

Has anybody had any recent luck with a trail that was not crazy expensive and not a cellular one .

Thinking the no glow would be what I want to search for the yotes in my woods, want to see about the area they visit during the day and especially at night .

Reading the all the reviews on Amazon seem to make one think there are no good ones out there .

Will be setting this up in a public spot so spending a lot does not make sense in case somebody decides to swipe it .

Thanks for any suggestions

I have recently started using a cellular camera, and I love them. If you're dead set against those, believe it or not, I got a twenty dollar tasco from Walmart that works wonderfully. Like all things camera/optic, prices come down as capability increases over time.

You want one with a quick trigger or you will have pics of tails or nothing. Less than 1/2 second works best.

Most of mine cost under $50/each but have triggers between .5 and 1 second ... not ideal. Check out Amazon.

My concern with the cellular is somebody stealing the unit , plus paying for service that I wont be using .

Also more than likely going to be very the thick woods .

What model did you get from Walmart that seems cheaper than the regular trail cams .

If you buy a cheap camera & put an Apple Air Tag in it, even if they steal it you can track it & maybe get it back.

I've had several Browning trail cameras and last year added several Cuddeback cell-enabled cameras. I've been happy with the Browning cameras. They are definitely better trail cams than the Cuddeback (but I do like the cell capability).

We have moultrie, bushnell, browning cameras, for everything except traps and use the Spypoint for them because they send the photos to my phone, if it’s what I want to get rid of, I call and drop the gates.

The Browning cameras seem to last the longest and have the best battery life.
