First and Last

perhaps "most recent" is a better description than last ?
most recent for me is the Uberti Bisley in 357, see avatar
N+1 when ever possible
First is foggy - perhaps a second hand Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Colt - no longer have it.
If I stood in a barn, aimed at the side and shot - most likely would miss - it was horrible.
After I had it a while, understood why it was cheap at the time.

First: Taurus Model 66, 4" .357, July 1987, the day after I turned 21. It got stolen in a vehicle burglary in 1991, and recovered in 1993.

Last: older, 1970/71-vintage Charter Arms Undercoverette in .32 SWL, December 2021. Saw it in the LGS, accompanied by a box of ammunition and a holster, all of which was being consigned. Six of those rounds had clearly been stored for some time in the cylinder.
Thought it would go nicely with my three older Undercovers.

My first was a High Standard "Sentinel" (.22 LR) that I purchased through my folk's country store/gas station back in the mid-60s. I can't remember which is the latest revolver I've purchased, but it was either my Model 69 Smith (.44 Mag), or a j-frame Smith snubby (.38 Special).
I'm not even thinking about quitting on my revolver purchasing though. It's just that no revolvers have particularly "caught my eye" in the past couple of years. I hope that's not because I'm getting old (almost 74) and hard to impress.:(;)

First was a 5 1/2" Ruger Single Six convertible, bought new in the mid-80s. Still have it and shoot it regularly.

Latest was a new-model 3" Colt King Cobra bought a couple weeks ago.

These are the only two revolvers I've ever bought, actually. I have a 357 Old Model 6 1/2" Blackhawk and 45 Colt New Model 4 5/8" Blackhawk that were given to me, so I've been set up with single-actions for awhile. Finally scratched the double-action itch with the new King Cobra. :)

The first revolver was circa 1972 when I came home from Vietnam. I remember it was a .38 Special S&W which is as good as my memory gets. I no longer have that gun. My last revolver was last year towards the holidays, maybe November or December. That was a nice little Colt Detective Special with the non shrouded ejector rod. That's about it on revolvers with a whole bunch inbetween. :)

I never thought of that until now, but it's funny the answer is Ruger Blackhawk and Ruger Blackhawk.
That IS kinda funny, but I can't think of two better choices for first and last revolvers. Other choices might be just as good, but none better.
BTW, am I the only revolver(s) owning person here that's having a bit of a problem with the word "last?" I'm almost 74 years old, but I'm hoping I haven't acquired my "last" revolver just yet.:D

No, you're not the only one. That's why I phrased my answer as "latest", not "last".;)

First revolver I purchased is a S&W 29-2 with the 8 3/8 barrel in 44 Mag. Bought it used in 97, but still take it out and had it on the range just a couple of weeks ago.
Latest revolver purchased is a S&W 66-1 with a 2.5" barrel in 357 Magnum, purchased in 2021.

Come to think about it, I'm pretty sure I had both on the range at the same time.

Hi...
Not quite sure of which was first but it was either a Kimel Ind. .22/22Mag SA revolver I bought off a co worker for $35 or a S&W 686 Silhouette Model .357Magnum that I bought at a local gun shop for $300 sometime in the 80s.

I have a SA 1911 in .45ACP that I bought in the same time frame. Can't remember which of the three was first. I also bought a Ruger Security Six for my wife at the time...registered in her name. Both her and the gun long gone, don't miss either of them.
I replaced the ex wife with a younger much better model a few years later. Never cared much for the Security Six and while I have bought dozens of revolvers since I still haven't and probably will never buy another Security Six.

Oh please, do I regret that. My first was a 4 inch 28 in 1978, and my last is a Charter Arms Off Duty. Would love to have the 28 back out of all I let slip through my fingers.
