New York pickup artist & 'dangerous conspiracy theorist', is jailed for huge weapons cache

New York City is a kingdom unto itself. They (NYPD and surrounding police departments) consider non lethal airsoft guns and non lethal airguns firearms and will charge you with felony possession of a firearm for having one. Thankfully the rest of the state isn't quite so bad. Also consider that the article is written by an Englishman. In the land of tea and crumpets self defense does not exist and firearms are almost unheard of.

I've seen that type of reporting come out of NY City before. I was surprised at the " huge weapons cache" terminology. Usually the term "arsenal" gets used if there are more than two firearms. Twofewscrews is correct in that NY City is a kingdom unto itself. Any New York State carry permit is not valid in New York City unless it was issued in that city to a resident of that city. They don't even have reciprocity for N.Y. state issued permits. Just one of the reasons why there have been movements to separate New York City from the rest of the state and create two states. I've only been to the Big Apple a couple times in my life, yet I feel more at home when I'm visiting Canada, versus feeling like a foreign visitor the couple times I was in New York City. It really is like being in another nation.

I didn’t know it was bad form, let alone against the law, to date women…

That is not an arsenal, nor a weapons cashe…
(It’s not even a very good hour at the range.)

Nice to know we’ve been downgraded to a riot. They should all be bailed out by our Vice President now for merely patriotically voicing their dissent… Right?o_O

Or is it only patriotic when there’s a home on fire?

Statements of "thousands of rounds found" are common on the local news here made by people that have no idea that's a six month supply of range ammo for a lot of us. It's reported by people with no knowledge of firearms meant to alarm other people unfamiliar with firearms/shooting sports. However, you should abide by the laws in your state or move to another less restrictive one.
