I’m not sure that I am on the correct thread, but the moderator will get me straight if I am wrong,

I am searching for a respectable place to purchase optics and cast bullets. There is no shortage of places listed on line but I know that some of you have had difficulty with certain advertisers that turn out to be SCAM sites. I just can’t find them again. So if you know that some aren’t legitimate please share ( if you’re able to do so),

I don’t have any specific sites, but if you find a site that:

1) Has products in stock that are out of stock at major retailers (Cabela’s, Academy, EuroOptic, Bud’s, Midway, etc)

and/or

2) Has substantially lower prices than major retailers

and/or

3) Does not accept credit cards

and/or

4) Only accept bitcoin,

then there is a high likelihood that the site is a scam. Also be aware that some scam sites will attempt to emulate a legitimate retailer’s website, but upon further inspection, you might find that the www.SiteName.com contains a misspelling.

My advice is to confirm a site’s legitimacy. If it cannot be confirmed, but you still feel like it is legitimate, only use a credit card for purchasing as banks are good about voiding illegitimate credit card charges.

I have been on a buying spree lately. I cast my own bullets, but I bought molds, dies, accessories, and even a bunch of fishing lures....camo vest.....all from Midway.
Free shipping on orders above $49.
They pride themselves on quick shipping.
They also keep you informed about your order via email. When it ships out. When it arrives and a thank you from Larry Potterfield.
I'm not the techy type, but their website is easy to use.

I used to be a casting nut. Now my time is more valuable so I shop online for my casting needs. I can recommend Montana Bullet Works for all your casting needs. There are many other good sites like Rimrock and Penn bullets that come to mind. There are more, just can’t think of them this evening. For optics, I like Brownells, Midway, Natchez, Graf and Sons, off the top of my head.

For bullets, I use:

I have read good things about:

For glass…it is a smorgasbord….I have bought local, on line, international….all the advice above is important. Try to find the best balance for you. As stated earlier - if it is too good to be true….

Several I have bought from:
https://agroutdoors.net/ - local, several scopes
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/ - some Trijicon, a TON of cameras & equipment
http://www.code4lesales.com/ - Trijicon ACOG & others
https://www.optics-trade.eu/us/ - S&B Hungaria
https://www.kingshooters.com/optics/scopes - Leupold
The box stores….Oshmans (if you remember them), Cabela, Bass Pro Shops, etc.

I was a regular Sir Casts-a-Lot until I got lazy and bored with it. Nowadays, I depend on Rimrock Bullets out of Polson, Montana. They're good people, and they ship their bullets in those MTM plastic ammo boxes - which can of course be reused for loaded ammo. At least they used to - it's been a couple of years since I bought bullets. :)

I am near Houston and have a lot of optics I purchased from Primary Arms, their own brand as well as a few others. They have some great reticles, depending on what your use is. I have the advantage of being able to browse their open box optics so I find a lot of great deals.

I have several different Vortex optics too and I will attest that even if their scopes are not all the greatest their customer service certainly is.

Outdoor Equipment: Hunting, Camping, & Apparel | SWFA - SWFA Outdoors

I've had positive experiences with this place buying optics There are deals to be found in the sample list. They take used scopes in trade and list them here. But most are simply discontinued products, returns, or occasionally some with minor cosmetic damage.

Sample List Home page - SWFA Outdoors
They even buy firearms. Sell 'em that gun you don't need and buy the scope you do.

They do ship stock orders quickly. Unlike some of the internet, warehouse retailers that take ten days just to start processing your "in stock orders." So +1 on JMR 40's post.

SWFA's website could use some work. A homepage slider that changes so quickly that it's an annoyance. Searching for products involves digging into an item just to see if that is really what you're looking for. Scope bases for example. Someone sold SWFA on glitz instead of content.
