Stevens Low Wall .45 Long Colt

A search on .45 LC Low Wall brings up a fair bit in the way of repoped 1885 actions, but Stevens is the sticking point there.

Found a Stevens "Low Wall" (Favorite) at Turnbull.

I agree that, as a custom rechamber project -- if it's a Favorite action -- 45 LC seems iffy. Frank de Haas thought .22 Magnum was a bit much for the original action. It's not some flavor of the Stevens No.44 action?

Are you sure it is .45 colt? Only one I have seen was a .44 long??? Similar to.44 special but not exactly.

I saw Steven's Model 25 listed in .44-40. If it is a 25, could have been rebarreled to 45LC.

I never heard of any Stevens called a "low wall" only Winchesters.
Turnbull's ad looks like a Favorite which is no way suitable for .45 Colt.

The Stevens No 44 was made up to .44-40 and even .38-55 in the black powder era.
One with a .45 barrel should be strictly limited to low powered ammo.

Stevens had a lot of model numbers but a relatively few actions, I can't find which one the No 25 was built on. Searching finds a lot of .25 caliber rifles but not a No 25 Stevens.
We can hope it is a 44 1/2 which is entirely different from a 44 and much stronger.
