Another one with few comparable completed listings:

Early Series 80 Colt Commander in .38 Super. Blued with standard mil-spec sights, factory grips and fitted with low-profile ambi-safety.

Any thoughts on market value? Thanks!

Gun broker penny start auctions answer these questions......

No matter what we or anyone else says it will be precieved as an attempt to take advantage of you.

By asking the question you know it's value is great

I place the value at $1800.00, accurate idk but every one is scrambling to buy before the coming economy crash

The early '80s were not all that great for Colt. Ongoing labor problems slowed down production and probably let a lot of guns go out the door that otherwise were not their best effort in overall fit and finish. Check the gun out closely if you can before purchasing.

You may also want to check for sure when this particular Commander was made because up until the late '80s to early '90s, Colt .38 Super barrels head spaced on the cartridge rim. Because a lot of factory ammo had small differences with case rim dimensions for their brass, many .38 Supers could have very poor accuracy. It wasn't until Colt went to head spacing on the case mouth did accuracy improve.

If I had to give you a price range for the Colt I would say somewhere between $1500 to $2000, depending on the gun's condition, both inside and out.

Let us know what you wind up doing and please post some photos of the gun if you can.
