Timing appears excellent, hammer doesn’t overtravel at full cock, action seems crisp and smooth. Haven’t shot it yet.

Stainless or something else? Looks beautiful.
Apparently it’s not stainless but has been “pickled” or surface hardened depending on whom you talk to. We’ll see how it holds up with use. Kinda want it to age like an old original but it seems to be a high quality finish. Tuners here have noted that the parts (hammers) are very hard in comparison to standard Piettas and some have opined that these have more careful fitting at the factory. Not sure about any of this.

If wonder how cold blue would do on that heat treated steel.

I've often wondered about the old silver models and have heard nothing but praises for them.

They look like a very high polished white steel but according to others the steel is hard as a rock

Wow, that's a very good looking pistola. I like it. Also interested in exactly what the finish/metal is.

Congrats on the revolver!
I used to spend A LOT at Cabela's and earned a ton of points that I always enjoyed cashing in for revolvers.
That was until Bass Pro took over.

When they changed over I lost all my points and I never went back!
Great looking pistol

Really?? That sucks. I can’t believe they would do that. My Cabelas is still a Cabelas but obviously it’s the same as bass pro now. I wonder if you could contact the company and get your points back.

FYI they (Cabelas) make you fill out a bass pro version of the questions from form 4473 when you buy a black powder revolver now. I asked the dude and he just kinda shook his head and said “bass pro policy”. They don’t ask for ID or run a background check or anything but you sign it and he signs it. Not sure what good it would do but it is what it is.

I did not know my new or receive my new account number and card so it was a dead end. I could apply for a new card and number. But hundreds in points gone gone gone. So I will never go back.

It’s your money but I’d call them and ask them to look it up. They’ll have records if you bug them enough. Up to you of course.

It was years ago and after calling, writing ect. I just gave up. I had no account it was closed by Cabelas and never opened/transferred by city Bank. Done deal .

The nearest Cabelas is 100 miles one way. Bass. Pro is 70 one way. Both said I can only use $20 in points per purchase. It isn't worth the drive to fool with. Both have lost my business.

I didn't lose any points in the transition. I use my Cabela's card for everything and cash in the points when they accumulate. I've gotten all sorts of stuff. Mostly scopes and blackpowder guns. Never had a limit on how much I could apply either. I got $900 worth of free optics just a couple months ago.

Wow that sucks, I didn't loose my points but was worried I would. I'm thinking I need to just keep mine used up on smaller things now instead of saving them for pistols and such.

Their pistol selection surely ain't what it used to be. I do see that they now all come up as "in store only". You can still order a blackpowder long gun though.
