Howdy All,
I seen posts about Pietta "Old Silver" 1858 Remingtons with photo engraving, two-tone frames and so forth, for-sure a purdy six-shooter !
I was lookin' at another, different "Old Silver"...
I know the caliber is not technically "correct" but Pietta makes the 1851 style in .44 caliber. Cabela's and a bunch of other folks like my local Bass Pro has 'em under the "Traditions" brand. There's a photo engraved 5 inch barrel "US Marshall" model and a non-engraved full-length barrel "Old Silver" 1851. The price is really attractive for the later, I thought the "US Marshall" looked a little gaudy.
The metal is polished steel described as "similar to stainless and will not rust" on a couple of websites.
Anybody have any experiance with these Piettas ?
The "Old Silver" is a good hundred dollars less than the stainless Remmie at my local Bass Pro !
I wish Pietta would make a stainless 1860 but for now this "OLD Silver" 1851 might be just the thing !
I got me one of them on order, let y'all know what I think once she lands on my porch !
Happy Trails,
