Is the Hornady reloading book worth it?

these videos are are pear reviewed and if their is an issue, they get called out
Meh, not really. I'm not sure how much I'd consider The Peanut Gallery to be "peer review." But, if somebody else finds them valuable, so be it. Your gun, your fingers and your eyes. Have at it and try not to be a Darwinner.

Darwinner sound like a episode of Lost

I think you are kind of missing the point. Hornady can't work up a perfect load in their test equipment for your rifle... that's up to you.
I don't believe I said I was looking for a 'perfect' load. Just want safe parameters to use for ladder testing. I'm used to load data being very specific. Bullet, brass, primer, powder, COAL, trim length, etc. I'd expect that level of data from a company like Hornady, especially since they are proud enough of it to charge for it.

But I've learned how Hornady works now with this stuff. It is what it is. I'm glad I didn't buy the book. Just too generic for my taste. Still a fan of the Hornady bullets though. Getting some impressive groups with their ELD-Match's.

Again... the combinations of all that are nearly endless, and I'm sure you know that.

I do agree with the Hornady bullet thing, though... they do make good bullets. :)

Yeah, I can see where folks wanting to be paid for their hard work and enterprise might be annoying. Darned free markets! Who do these people think they are? :scrutiny:
Power to the People, Comrade!

A buddy gave me some old Hornady bullets. He's phasing out of metallic case reloading. So I'm looking around for loads for them, and realize that Hornady does not give that data away, they charge for it. Never ran into that before in the reloading world, but it is what it is.

So I start looking at buying their reloading handbook or getting the app. I look at their tease pages and see that they lump a lot of stuff together. Like 5-6 bullets of different types (all the same weight/caliber) all having the same loading data. I called their customer support, and they confirmed that's the way they do it. I'm used to each bullet having it's own recipes. Pretty generic stuff there. Seems like I could pull any recipe for any Hornady bullet from sites like Hodgdon and use it for all Hornady bullets of that same caliber and weight.

What am I missing? I have several reloading books, and am not opposed to owning more. But this one may not be worth the price.
I have a Hornady (I think it’s the 9th,) I won’t buy another. It and my Nosler book are a waste of time and money.

I dont use the Hornady book much, just as a reference. I dont like the block style velocity graphs that round off at 100 fps, and the speeds seem slow.
