I have a Ruger Talo Night Watchman and want (really need to due to old eyes) to replace the rear sight with a red dot. After researching dove tail mounting plates, I’m still confused on the proper plate to employ on this 1911 light weight Commander.
There doesn’t seem to be a definitive platform for the Ruger, so the question I have will the standard dove tail for the 1911 government fit the Ruger dove tail. I haven’t called Ruger to get their insight on this application and I was confident members of the forum could guide me with this effort. I’m probably going to mount the Leupold Delta Pro after determining which base plate to use. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
