You wrote BCA, I read BCM.

Certainly a difference in quality.

But, yes, everyone needs to be making a Glock clone these days, it’s what the cool kids are doing (even if places like Wilson seem to be shifting focus to Sig).
I have the improved offspring of a Glock and a VP9, the SAR9, that's about as close to a Glock as I'll ever get.

The patent on Gen 3 Glocks expired, so I read and that leads to many companies using a proven base for their guns.

Because if you are a BCA fanboi, you will have to have one.

Are there BCA fanboys? I mean I've bought from them before but most people seem to buy their Glock barrels because they work "ok" and are dirt cheap. You don't tend to attract a customer base willing to pay a premium by making your name being the cheapest option in town :).

They would not put it out if it would not sell .

Have you never heard of a market flop? Plenty of of gun (& other) companies put out stuff that doesn't sell well. They put it out because they THINK it will sell well but that doesn't mean it will. The owner of USFA basically bankrupted his company by putting out the Zip .22.

Yeah but man oh man that leads to some boredom. I'd hate to see happen to semi-auto pistols what has happened to the semi-auto rifle market. Every single company on Earth is putting out an AR15 variant and acting as if they have some revolutionary new product. There's only so many ways to spin yet another AR, and the same is becoming true of Glock clones.

They have reinforced the idea that Glock has no mind for aesthetics though. The PSA Dagger, the Polymer 80, the GST9, and pretty much every other aftermarket frame out there all look better than the original Glock frame despite being parts-compatible :).

I don't really have anything for or against BCA. I did get to shoot an AR-10 that used one of their uppers not too long ago. I liked the rifle & had fun putting some rounds through it.
I guess they want to make a Glock clone for the guys that don't like polymer. S&W is coming out with a metal framed version of the M&P. People trying to make sure there is a product for every potential striker fired pistol buyer. The price is a definite turn off for me though. I did pick up a Dagger last year. It is decent enough & inexpensive enough. I liked the fact it takes Glock magazines & most Glock parts will work. Glock mags & parts are easy to find.

Well, I do have one Sig, which I love.

I have tried and owned every “Glock killer” released except the Masada and the only one that actually offered me enough to put away the 19 is the 365xl.

Quite a few of them shot about equivalent but offered me nothing to convince me to ignore the money I have in holsters, mags and trigger time but the 365xl shoots pretty much 90% of the 19 in my hands, and the ease of carry is just too much to ignore for me.

Slap a Wilson frame on mine and it’s everything I need.

Pretty sure this is an all metal pistol made in house at BCA. I am kind of a BCA fanboi but won't be buying one of these pistols.
If they made the grip more Sig-like, or even PSA Dagger-like I'd probably take a closer look at it. The price tag wouldn't be as bothersome then.

I own 5 or 8 BCA Upper! it’s good stuff. And was VERY cheap
I have BCA to thank for my gunsmithing skills, if you now what I mean.

I gave up on them a few years ago when they mucked up the first go at side charging uppers.

If you track their stuff closely you can get a diamond in the rough from them from time to time. I have several of their barrels that are some of the most accurate I own.

I cannot recommend anyone get their lowers though.

Same reason everyone else has copied them, the AR and 1911. Easier to copy something great than clean sheet something else equally great and if your goal is to create income, it’s better to sell something great than an original something that’s a dud.

I know EXACTLY what you mean! Dremel, Flitz, File, sand paper.

My hand guard poped off, side charger flew off, and it ate my brass like a cheese grader. But after some kitchen side GunSmithing! Works flawless, but is the heaviest AR you can imagine
