Will changing from Remington 7 1/2 primer to Winchester small rifle primer have much effect on accuracy ? I am loading 6x45 58 gr. V-Max bullets with 26.5 gr Accurate 2230 with a Rem 7 1/2 primer with good results. Problem is, I'm out of Rem. primers but have 1K of WSR's. Wondering everyones thoughts on this. Am achieving a 2 MOA currently, what should I expect with the change ?

There's really no telling, accuracy could be better or worse. I'd go to the range and see. If you're running at a max load you should probably back you load down a couple of grains and work back up.

With a 2 MOA rifle/load combo you likely won’t notice a change in primers.

Where I see it is in the last step of fine tuning where I’m trying to wring the last ounce of accuracy out of a developed load. Perhaps more importantly, I’m looking for a reduction in the vertical. For example..:.

BR4’s was the winner

Some years back I used to follow a website “Steve’s Pages”. Random stuff, some related to shooting and reloading

One post was about a rifle that he had put a very significant amount of load development time into. Powder, bullets, cases, charge weights, seating depth. IIRC, best he could do was over 2”. Finally out of desperation he switched primers and instantly cut groups to sub 1”.

The only thing for certain is nothing is for certain

When doing load development for my 8x68S I saw a +35 FPS average increase going from CCI LR mag to FED 215s. It definitely had an impact on accuracy and POI.

You'll never know for sure until you try it.
